I'd take Doom Blade over Dark Banishing any day. Same goes for taking Consume Spirit over Corrupt. Also, I'd take multiples of the good spells rather than having a bunch of singletons. Increases your chances of getting what you need, when you need it.

Also, this really isn't a type 2 deck (I really wish cards like Hymn to Tourach were still in Standard).
woops! i meant type 1. most of the cards are non-standard. Also, the cards I've chosen all have similar or like effects (smother, diabolic edict, swat, or ostracize, hymn, wrench mind). The idea was to get around the 4 of rule since I need 4 of but only had a few of each. Compensation of sorts
I kinda didn't understand some cards (or quantities, for that matter), did you build this deck exactly the way you have it?
My collection of Type 1 cards is sort of limitted. I have about as many as I have cards from innistrad block
