Have you tried Chimeric Mass instead of Accorder's Shield? It will survive boardwipe, and it's effective as a late-game top-deck. How about Infernal Plunge? e.g.: Turn 1: Land, Memnite, Infernal Plunge, Goblin Chieftain.

Before i had Infernal plunge, i just dont think its worth it to loose one creature and one card on one spell. :-)
