Deck discussion for Esper Control

I'd say take out debt to the deathless for 2 more supreme verdict, you really need the wipes against current decks, bloodbaron is also better than obzedat but that one is really up to you!

yea blood baron is also too much money for my pockets right now and im working on taking the debt out i really wanted to make it work but its just too slow. thanks.

I disagree. Blood Baron is a bad magic card that is good because of the current meta. Obzedat is a better creature. Having said that...blood baron may be a bit easier for you to cast, so it may be a sideboard card if you get some.

I agree with replaceing the Debts with Supreme Verdicts. Also, while the control is really good, it doesn't really lead anywhere, just sitting and waiting for either an aetherling or an obzedat. A couple more ways to win would help speed you along. I would suggest maybe Ashiok, or Elspeth. One gives you a way of casting cards otherwise not available in such a control heavy deck, while the other provides tokens, that when emblemed can deal serious damage. Jace, Architect of Thought is anouther good one. Maybe one or two Consuming aberritions, since you cast spells all the time, stoping/destroying theres, so it could be come a monster of a card really quick. Another great card is Desecration Demon. Not that hard to put down, big enough to do damage, scary enough for them so sac creatures, giving you less targets to worry about. Definitely don't use all of these at once, but one or two would definitely help.

That's not really the point of control, the whole point IS sitting there and waiting and then you drop the bomb they can't deal with and win the game, Elspeth is a good suggestion, but the rest take up space for valuable kill spells.

He is right there. You need more win cons. And I would have a variety as well. Maybe run one ofs and use elspeth ashiok or the like in addition to an aetherling and an obzedat.

Oh...and d sphere is better for this than doom blade (which is more of a sideboard card)

I like what people are saying about the swap for more verdicts. Debt to the deathless is not very good. I would also ditch far and away for a set of jace...he is too good.

which jace? and Ive taken out the debts I really wanted them to work but theyre just too slow. Im thinking desecration demon though for some midgame damage or removal for theyre sac either way it helps with my midgame

Demons is another bad card that the meta has made better. Jace Architect is way better for the deck

I'd say swap skyknight for detention sphere, sphere is a key part of Esper control

+1 elixir of immorality

Esper doesn't need elixir, U/W does but esper wins far quicker!

I agree with the downfall i still gotta get one more but im not sure about the elixir

I like elixir as a back up in case all your win cons are answered...its like a reset button. I would play it more like u/w splashing black, its a more efficient build

I would also really suggest elixer i was playing an esper using my mono black and he was running 3 sphinxes and almost decked himself unstil he used his elixer he was digging for a elsepeth

I do like ashiok and thanks for the input. I was however thinking about desecration demon for some midgame play. what do you think?

Desecration Demon is good I would replace your Lyev Skyknights with them and maybe Jace, Memory Adept. Also,
-2 Prognostic Sphinx, -1 Obzedat, and -1 Aetherling. Then +4 Dissolve. YOu need those counters.

I like progno sphinx hes easy to protect and scry three is just too good. but I do need to fit some counters in!

Ashiok is a bad card at the moment, she gates ripped apart before she can do anything except +.

Sideboard i would suggest 2 pithing needles that stops in the mirior match and messed up my mono black also ratchet bomb for weenie decks maybe 2 of those and 4 duress for a mirior and the new spirit from BOTG that only allows 1 card draw per turn for apponentes for 1 w and c
