Grim Lavamancer maybe a good idea taking out cards from your graveyard and then doing some damage, plus it's a one drop so could add a little protection in taking out small creatures before your deck starts to go off.

Borborygamos Enraged would draw out land to discard and gives you another card that utilizes discarding them
I tried him but his cost is the real problem. Usually I start sacrificing lands when im around 4-5 so I can't quite reach him. Maybe as a sideboard card against slower decks.
