What exactly does not breaking the bank mean? Last I checked, Path to Exile was close to $7 per card.

That being said, I have a few suggestions that would probably help.

First, you are running white allies, yet no Join the Ranks? It's a 15 cent card and will do so more to help your allies than Veteran's Reflexes ever could. Veteran's Reflexes is crap.

Also, I don't think Negate is going to help you as much as you might think. If you still want to run it though, I would take out both of your Wind Zendikons and run three Negates. Fill the other 3 spots with Aether Tradewinds. That way if you can bounce one of their creatures, bounce an Ondu Cleric, replay it, retrigger all the ally abilities and have a more open field to attack on.

Also, I don't know how you plan to work this out, but you need more creatures. Allies deck are built on the synergy that comes from playing a ton of allies. As of now you're only running 15 allies. That is not nearly enough. You also need Sea Gate Loremaster for card acceleration since you will topdeck incredibly fast.

As good as it is, I would take out Wall of Denial for more creatures. Wall of Denial does not fit in with an ally playing scheme. You want speed, not a hulking wall to sit back and do nothing with. I would also take out Oblivion ring since you have noncreature removal through Negate. Fill the open spots with more allies. Sea Gate Loremaster and Kabira Evangel would be good additions to this deck.

Hope you actually read and consider this. For reference, all my price listings are from Channel Fireball.

Check out my Red/White Allies. It's my version of super budget and it holds its own rather nicely in T2 play.

thx for suggestions, ill take out some stuff in favor of the tradewinds, but veteran's reflexes is actually good bro, 1 white for a surprise blocker to take out one of their creatures, or an extra bonus to deal that extra point of dmg and have a blocker for next turn, it strength lies in its speed and versatility!

Ooh, good deal on the Paths. Still kinda expensive when I think of budget though. Ah well. Snap them up while you can because someone else will if you don't.

And it's not that Veteran's Reflexes is crap all around (not really), but it's not what you want in an ally deck. Not at all. Allies have strength in spamming creatures and overrunning your opponent. Sure, Veteran's Reflexes can be sneaky, but that the same time, you could have more allies instead, which would give a permanent +1/+1 to multiple creatures, and honestly, opponents attack you at their own peril. With your mana curve and general ally deck setup, You can have a Hada Freeblade at a 5/6 and a Kazandu Blademaster at a 5/5 by turn 4. That's going to throw anyone for a bit of a loop when they decide whether they want to attack. Plus you have removal and bounce so dealing with attacking creatures shouldn't be a problem. I'm telling you, I don't think Veteran's Reflexes is going to do your deck the justice you think it will.

Sorry, missed your sideboard. Get another Join the Ranks and maindeck it. Maindeck it. Maindeck it. Double triggering all your allies' abilities can be devastating to your opponent.

And on another subject, why Makindi Shieldmate? If it's a budget thing, fine. But really, why? An Ally like Kabira Evangel or Talus Paladin (woot Talus Paladin) would serve you much better. Kabira Evangel provides offensive defense through protection, and Talus Paladin is just damn good when you consider by the time you drop one o' thems, you should be swinging for between 6-14 per turn. Now that damage would have lifelink.

Also, a couple copies of Sea Gate Loremaster would be good for card acceleration like I mentioned before.

If you want my opinion, I would take out Veteran's Reflexes (or replace kitesail with it and put it in your sideboard) and Makindi Shieldmate and put in 2 Sea Gate Loremasters and 3 of either Talus Paladin or Kabira Evangel.

Just more things to consider.

aight, i'll take out the veterans, the rare allies you mentioned would be better than the shieldmate, but by that point the deck ceases to be budget, lol. but yea i agree, ill replace the veterans.
