Deck Description

Deck I've been playing with awhile in casual settings. Recently made some changes to it to make it better for a tournament environment as I'm planning to take it to a standard tourney where the first prize is a black lotus. Essentially it's RDW. Burn blockers, then win by a) burning the opponent down, b) a big kiln fiend, c) a big shrine sac, or a combination thereof. Sideboard is for what I expect the meta to be like.

Tourney was 7 swiss rounds with a cut to top 8. Went 3-4 all together. Chandra's Spitfire was an all around champ and won a lot of my games. Most people didn't even know what it did and were surprised at its inclusion. Shrine and Slagstorm were also very nice. Kiln Fiend was removed almost as soon as I cast him every game. Ember Hauler did little to nothing. Will probably drop the Ember Hauler for some Apostle's Blessings.

Sideboard wise, Combust, Act of Aggression, Dismember and Manic Vandal saw the most switching in, though I never drew or needed to use the AoAs or Combust in any of the games I brought them in on, so Vandal wins the sideboard game. Leyline and Tec Edge were largely useless. Will be dropping those for something more useful.

The whole deck will be dead pretty much come October though, so now that the tournaments over with I'll probably just look to build some other kind of mono red deck.
