Deck Description

This is one of my most consistent kitchen table decks. I view this deck as a test to see if the opposing deck has any tempo issues. Got any ideas for improvements?

The idea is to keep opponents' hands full via card draw and bounce effects in order to deal damage with Black Vises, Owl Netsukes and Iron Maidens.

Nemesis effects:
- Non-permanent based burn decks, since there's little to bounce.
- Decks with a lot of discard abilities for themselves.

How to Play

Use the bounce spells to buy time to play the bigger cards. Tempo is the key. It's perfectly fine to bounce any mana ramp creatures or lands. Especially so, if this puts them back to 7 cards while you just played Ebony Owl Netsuke.

Seal of Removal plays an important role by being castable on your first turn. Thus, giving you some way to control the game on turns 2-3 while you spend mana for a permanent, like Aphetto Alchemist or Temple Bell.

Temple Bell should be activated during opponent's end phase to prevent them from casting the drawn cards right away. Naturally after your damage dealing artifacts hit the board you want to switch to giving the cards during your turn, so they'll take more damage.

Aphetto Alchemist is the catalyst of the deck.
Drop him the turn before Temple Bell to get the most out of it. Giving opponent(s) 4 cards between their end step and your upkeep is very effective way to make Iron Maiden deadly while giving them no time to cast any sorcery speed spells.
Aphetto Alchemist can also untap Seat of the Synod for extra mana, substitute vigilance for Swans of Brynn Argoll, get more out of Dakra Mystic and untap Blackstaff to dodge targeted removal.

Sunder works as a finisher when your board is ready and have 1-2 Vises/Netsukes/Maidens. If you didn't play your land of the turn yet, you should put out Seat of the Synod, since it can be untapped with Aphetto Alchemist for more spells.

Couple rare things to do, but versatility is for the best:
- Counter your own spell with Arcane Denial and draw 3 additional cards next upkeep.
- Untap Blackstaff with Alchemist to evade targeted removal

Deck discussion for Card Disadvantage

Great subs for Black Vise.
And cheap too!

M15 card, it is new, Void Snare.
1 mana nonland bounce...very fast stuff.
Better, maybe, then the Seal of Removal. More versatile, for sure.

I know this is a very old comment, but here it goes...
Granted Void Snare hits wider range of cards, but the idea with Seal of Removal is to be a turn 1 cast, so can keep using mana for other stuff on following turns. The deck has a pretty tight mana curve especially on turn 3 with Iron Maiden/Temple Bell. When you cast either of those having a Seal of Removal on board is incredibly useful.

On the other news, finally got Academy Ruins which should help against artifact hate.
