i would recommend trigon of corruption or w/e the black one is. that way you can put a -1/-1 counter on something and then get an elf.

No contagion clasp/contagion engine/creakwood liege/thallids?
Those would all work but I was trying to keep it connected and simple, (And cheap, i don't have big bucks to spend on cards)
