Attack me, I dare you

by DedWards on 03 February 2011

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (1 card)

Enchantments (1)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

A deck based around the opponent losing life for attacking.
White is in the deck for the "Fog" cards.
Forbidden Orchard go give creatures to the (hopefully) unwilling opponent.
Rage Nimbus and Nettling Curse's abilities to help force the opponent to attack.
I wanted to add Angel's Trumpet, but relised that I won't be attacking in this deck so I desided not to.

*EDIT*

OK, I noticed that allot of people do not understand the point of this deck, so I'm going to list how I deal with certain scenarios:

1) My opponent doesn't play any creatures - I give him some with Forbidden Orchard and he'll lose life each time I give him one because of Blood Seeker
2) My opponent only plays and attacks with one BIG creature - I enchant the crap out of it with Contaminated Bond, Nettling Curse and Soul Bleed. I also use Souls of the Faultless, Stuffy Doll and Boros Fury-Shield to turn the damage back on him. I also use Batwing Brume, Holy Day and Ethereal Haze to buy time.
3) My opponent refuses to attack - Blood Seeker will make him lose life for each creature he plays / I give him, Stronghold Discipline will make him lose life for each creature he has and I can make creatures attack with Rage Nimbus and Nettling Curse.
4) My opponent is creating a huge army to attack and kill me with in one attack - This is the perfect scenario for Batwing Brume, Stronghold Discipline and Hissing Miasma. I also prevent damage I'll be taking with Holy Day and Ethereal Haze.

No one runs enough counter spells to counter all my spells or enough of a variation of destruction cards to destroy lands, enchantments and creatures.

Glad you like it. This is actually the 5th version of this deck that I've posted on this site and this is the result of the comments on the previous versions and input from friends. I'm hoping to put this deck together tonight :p

No Lightmine Field? You won't even be attacking, so it could help quite a lot.

I'm not looking to kill thier creatures, just make them loose life for attacking with them.
Also, when people see Hissing Miasma out on the field, they tend to attack with 1 BIG creature and that's where Boros Fury-Shield / Souls of the Faultless / Stuffy Doll plays it's part :)
If they do try attack with a swarm, Hissing Miasma and Batwing Brume will sort out that problem :D
In most cases, you can see if the opponent is building up a swarm and that's why I run Blood Seeker and Stronghold Discipline. The Discipline is also fun after I've given him a swarm with Forbidden Orchard :p

Not me. If someone drops Hissing Miasma I grit my teeth and kill them, knowing full well it might sting a bit.

As awesome as Season of the Witch is, I find the drawback to be too much. It can end up killing my Stuffy because I'd rather block with it than attack.

Season of the witch will not kill the Stuffy doll, Stuffy doll in indestructible and seasons specifically says destroy not sacrifice. so as long as you can keep accepted the 2 HP loss each upkeep then it wouldn't be bad.

UMM? Wheres the wind condition against a creature based deck? you don't attack yourself and they can w8 you out if they so chose you will run out of enchantments. If they get a creature with lifelink they may not care about the loss of life.

0
Posted 12 February 2011 at 17:10

I win by making loose life for attacking and having creatures. Life link means nothing if I prevent the damage (Holy Day, Ethereal Haze, Batwing Brume) or if I redirect the damage with Boros Fury-Shield (the shild prevents the damage and then how ever much damage I would have taken is dealt to the creatures controller - lifelink won't take effect) :p

Dude add lust for war
its perfect for this deck

0

As Nice as Lust for War is, it forces him to attack every turn, I'd rather control when I want him to attack (Rage Nimbus, Nettling Curse)

Chant of the Vitu-Ghazi would also do well. Using convoke will make sure you have enough mana because if you do play it, you wont need any blockers anyway.

But what if your opponent is using a deck based around creatures such as Khamal, Pit Fighter? Some kill cards wouldn't go astray here.

0
Posted 12 February 2011 at 19:12

Vitu-Ghazi is a nice card, but it's too expensive. I won't have enough mana and / or creatures to play it when I need to.

If he's using creatures like Kamahl, Pit Fighter, he'd be stupid to deal damage to Stuffy Doll and I'd just have to race to give him enough creatures (Forbidden Orchard) to kill him with Stronghold Disipline :P

0

This is a really good deck... but for everyone who knows it its weak...
the only 3 creatures u can use to atack are 1/1, so if i do know against who im playing i just dont evoke any creature... kill or counter these blood seekers...
I think your deck should have 80 cards and have some big monsters too ...

0
Posted 12 February 2011 at 20:05

1) If I have my creatures killed, there's always my enchantments and spells.
2) Any more than 60 cards will reduce the chance of me pulling what I need.
3) I won't be attacking with this deck, I'm supposed to win by being attacked :p

Have a look at Lust for war. It deals 3 damage to the player every time their creature taps, and the creature has to attack each turn if able. Would fit great in this deck. I would say better than Soul bleed, especially considering it is the same CMC.

Hi, what about nice and simple Pariah's to go on the stuffy dolls !! That's just given me an idea Stuffy doll's - Pariah's the either force of nature and dont pay the upkeep or even lord of the pit ??? mmm

Pariah and Pariah's Shield are awesome cards for Stuffy, but not for this deck. I almost never play Stuffy and that's not because I didn't draw him / have enough mana for him, it's because I didn't need to. Stuffy's more like another Souls of the Faultless than anything else in this deck.

This is a really nice deck, to help your opponet attack just that much more maybe try to fit in a couple "Bloodshed fever" or "Lust for war". each will cause an enchanted creature to attack each turn if able. the Lust for war is a bit more expensive though, but it also does 3 damage to your opponent as well. Couple that with the Stuffy doll and they will beat themselves in no time at all. :)

0
Posted 14 February 2011 at 11:23

the problem with those awesome cards is as I've stated in a comment further up, I'd rather choose when I force my opponent to attack (you're the 5th person to suggest Lust for War).

I think you should have some sort of sideboard set up to make it better against the varieties of decks. Combo will just outright kill you without batting an eye. You have virtually no way to stop it. Sideboarding cards like Memoricide, hand disruption in the form of cards like Duress and Thoughtseize, and sometimes even cards like Leyline of Sanctity can really go a long way in stopping these decks. Against control, they actually probably will have enough counters to stop you, along with their single Grave Titan or card similar to it. Similar cards can be sided in against them. Against both of these decks, it seems unlikely that Forbidden Orchard will be enough to go all the way.

Against Aggro, you apparently seem pretty set so no more than 3 cards probably need to be devoted to that (although you may want to make sure decks like Kuldotha Red that have turn 3 kills don't overrun you). Something like Isochron Scepter to go with the the Holy Day cards might be perfect.

Hope this is a bit of help. Not trying to say it's a bad list, but just pointing out a few weaknesses it naturally has and a few suggestions on how to fix them.

Thank you for your input, but I was already aware of most of that. This is just a casual deck (like most of my decks) and in my group, casual normally means group game, so I almost never have to deal with the full rath of those type of decks :p

Why not throw in Gideon Jura-Planeswalker?

+2: During target opponent's next turn, creatures that player controls attack Gideon Jura if able.

Unless it's a cost issue, but I think you have enough mana...

Not sure. I made this with cards I had / traded for. I'd say that the most expensive cards would be the rare lands and maybe Stuffy.

also kazuul the tyrant of cliffs and gideon jura and darkness because if i get this deck cards that you dont have what would you sub in for

0

I'm honoured that you choose my deck as one of your main decks :D

I've played this deck often and it works just as I wanted, so I wouldn't be sure what to take out for those cards but I'd try the following if I had the cards:

For 2x Gideon, I'd take out 2x Stuffy Doll / 1x Stuffy and 1x Souls of the Faultless / 2x Souls of the Faultless.
For 4x Darkness - 4x Holy Day.
For 2x Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs - 2x Stuffy Doll / 1x Stuffy and 1x Souls of the Faultless / 2x Souls of the Faultless.

so gideon for stuffy and darkness fo holy kazuul for stuffy also?

and should i change the mana?
