Deck Description

I've been wanting to make a standard goblin deck for a while now and this is what I'm sitting with at the moment. All the cards here are what I've managed totrade for / get out of boosters.

Deck discussion for Ded's Goblins (Standard)

Add in the Goblin Bushwhacker, then this deck is set for life, take out assault strobe for the bushwhackers, because the strobe is not necessary for a goblin deck and is kinda a waste of red mana.

Just a suggestion :P

i agree on the bushwhackers, but i would maybe use infiltration lense for more card drawal

I dont think the infiltration lense has any place in this deck personally, I mean, the current equipment is made to do things like getting lands in for land fall and valakut. so the lense doesnt do much in this deck

Thanks for the comments. I'll put the Bushwackers in. The lens doesn't fit with this deck at all.

This is definitely a bit different than normal Goblin or Kuldotha Rebirth decks.
I quite like a few of the things going on here. The only thing that springs to mind is maybe you could use Scalding Tarn and/or Arid Mesa in place of a few mountains. Basically to help boost Adventuring Gear if you are stuck with it and no rebirth in hand. It really helps the searing blaze too because you can fetch a land and hit for 3 plus 3 on their turn as well as your own then.
And since you are playing Rebirth and only 12 artifacts does the Galvanic Blast hit for more than 2 very often? Have you tried testing with Burst Lightning in it's place?

I decided against making the deck rely solely on one ability (you're suggesting landfall) and I have tried Burst Lightning and found that Galvanic Blast works just that little better seeing that I don't have to pay for the extra damage. Explorer's Scope helps just well enough with the landfall.

So how does this.deck work? I think I'm lost on the genius of the deck. Please enlighten me.

Well the deck is still "iffy". The idea is to have allot of +1/+0 triggers in one turn (Goblin Bushwhacker and Goblin Wardriver) or a large power on Goblin Gaveleer thanks to the cheep equips.

Swarm swarm swarm. that is the point of the deck. Spot removal with the spells. Isn't there an enchanment that puts a counter on it when a goblin comes into play and gives all goblins +2/+0?

0

Quest for the Goblin Lord, it gives all creatures you control +2/+0

This deck works very well. I was surprised. But deds decks usually rock. I added in that goblin that gives all my red creatures first strike, he seems to work well and keep some of my opponents at bay

and also goblin chieftain really helps boost your dudes.

you can buy 4 unplayed gg's for only 4.48 each, thought this might help, to bad they aren't 10 again....I say this only cuz I have 4...

$4.48 (I'm assuming you meant dollars) x 8 (about the exchange rate) = R35.85.... Not too bad, I mite order some then :p

Stick some Quest for the Goblin Lord in.

"Whenever a Goblin enters the battlefield under your control, you may put a quest counter on Quest for the Goblin Lord. As long as Quest for the Goblin Lord has five or more quest counters on it, creatures you control get +2/+0." only costs R to play.

Unlike most goblin decks, I don't get allot of goblins out, so getting the required 5 counters to get the enchantment's bonus would be difficult.

Just want to let everyone know, I've once beat a black infect deck with this and he was running Phyrexian Crusaders (it died to Valakut :D )

i came up against a black green infect deck with phyrexian crusader. and i was using a deck very similar to this but with more goblins. i lost. how did you do it if you dnt mind my asking?

0

LOTS of burn (and luck) :D
Also the damage from Valakut is coulourless, so you can target the Crusader with it :p

id recomend mycosynth wellspring over the explorer. Gives you a land for 1 less(overall) and you can sac it to the rebirth for another land after.

i mean the expedition map, not the explorers

0

The map allows me to search for Valakut, the wellspring doesn't.

0

not gonna lie id probably pull out galvanic blast for accorder shields for graveleer and more artifacts for rebirth sacing. just something to consider. and as was previously mentioned holding metalcraft against most decent decks will be difficult with such few artifacts. or perhaps people run different decks in your area... idk im not great so perhaps im wrong.

0

This deck isn't aimed at concentrating on metalcraft, in fact there is no concentration on any type of ability with this deck :p

This deck is eh. There are lot better goblin decks out there. Add signal pest. Add ember hauler. Remove the wardriver. Remove some mountains add some teetering peaks.

Tell me what y'all think of my Goblin deck!

0

I would drop Valacut. It ETBT. that's bad in an aggro deck. Replace them with War Zones. I would also scrap the Landfall subtheme for more goblins, specifically War Drover and Guide. Signal pest is also better than Gavaleer. Finally, Spikeshot is awesome. Decent start though.

The Valakuts are pretty pimp in this deck with all the Maps and Scopes to get you a ton of lands. With all that extra mana maybe consider Red Sun Zenith for the killing blow or even devistating summons with your bushwackers.

Take a look at my Standard Turn 1 WIN: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=197340

I would consider maybe tossing in some flings, with all the bonuses that your goblin gaveleer gets with the battlecry, that could add up to a considerable amount of damage. Quite possibly enough to take down an opponent already weaked by Valakut, the molten pinnacle.

i lovethis deck.last night i went out and bought this deck, played it in standard, and did decent!the only problems were:

1: not enough artifacts for kuldotha rebirth and galvanic blasts,so i would highly recomend memnites. you can sac them turn one to kuldotha rebirth, then turn to kick a bushwacker and swing for eight!!

2:you run out of hand faster than a pizza slice at a weight watchers convention...sorry, lame joke.the point is you have no hand. so replace expedition maps w/ howling mines, so not only will you have a hand, have artifacts, but youll also draw valakut and enough mountains!!

anyway, thank you for bringing this awesome deck to the community.

I understand what you mean and I'm honored that you bought this deck. This deck was made out of what I had at the time and I've not modified it since. I've been working on other ideas for standard decks (one being strait green infect)
