Deck Description

And here I am again with another deck based on Forbidden Orchard and its interaction with other cards :P

When I first saw Illness in the Ranks the only card I thought of to work with it was Forbidden Orchard. From there I also realised I could use the Hunted Phantasm's I've had in my file for a long time now. So this is a first attempt at using these cards together.

How to Play

Main idea is to get Illness in the Ranks out asap to offset the downside of Forbidden Orchard and Hunted Phantasms.
The Illness then allows Orchard taps to trigger Bloodseeker and Blood artists abilities to slowly sap the opponent of life while you also attack with the unblockable 4/6 Hunted Phantasm :p

Deck discussion for Forbidden Illness

if you want to use Forbidden Orchard and Hunted Phantasm try Aether flash - two damage to all - or crypt rats /Lashknife Barrier combo - -1 damage to all your troops. This would make the deck legal in legacy but not modern.

As cool as Æther Flash is, I have 2 problems with it here. First is the fact that it's red, thus an odd colour (I really do like Illness in the Ranks one mana cost) and the other is it's not Modern legal. I generally build for either Standard or Modern, the 2 formats played most in my group.

I don't really have any suggestions for this deck. I just wanted to say that it's totally kickass and I love how you're using the blood artist and blood seeker. Never thought about anything like that. Awesome.

I have to admit this isn't an original idea, I've been running another deck that works similarly for a while now:

This deck is the result of trying to find another way of doing what I'm already doing :p
