Deck Description

Another attempt at making God-Pharaoh's Gift viable in Standard. Like my first attempt, the idea is to cheat the Gift into play with Gate to the Afterlife. I noticed a problem with my first attempt and that was the clause on Gate that says "Activate this ability only if there are six or more creature cards in your graveyard." which I didn't notice before. This time I've gone with mono black cycling to both search for the Gate and to fill the graveyard with creatures for this clause.

*Edit 7 July 2017

How to Play

Cycle until you can play and activate Gate to the Afterlife to cheat God-Pharaoh's Gift into play. Once the Gift is in play, you get to "reanimate" all your cycled creatures as 4/4 zombies.

The cycling creatures where chosen for one of two reasons, thier abilities or cycling for {B}. The creatures retain their abilities when "reanimated" with the Gift.

> Archfiend of Ifnir can slowly sweep the opponent's board each time you cycle. It also has flying.
> Hollow One can be cast for free if you cycle 3 times. This is good with the creatures that cycle for {B}.
> Horror of the Broken Lands cycles for {B} and gets a temporary Power and Toughness boost when you cycle a card.
> Lurching Rotbeast cycles for {B}.
> Vile Manifestation gets a power boost for each cycling card in the graveyard.
> Wasteland Scorpion has Deathtouch.

Even without the Gift "combo", Vile Manifestation is a nasty X/4 for 2 mana, Hollow One can be a 4/4 for {1}{B}{B} if you cycle two Horror and / or Rotbeast, and the Scorpion is a decent blocker because of deathtouch.

Faith of the Devoted is a proactive sideboard change for is you suspect the opponent is brining in artifact hate. -4 Gate, -2 Gift, +3 Faith, +3 any other appropriate sideboard option.
