Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Modern Cheerio based deck with a mill win condition.

The win-condition, rather than a regular Modern rendition of Cheerios, a storm deck relying on Grapeshot, this deck aims to win via mill while using very similar mechanics.

It isn't aiming to be better than regular Cheerios, it was made because it could be done.

How to Play

In order to win, you need a Puresteel Paladin and a Grinding Station. The process looks like this:

Play a 0 cost equipment -> Draw a card from Puresteel Paladin -> Tap Grinding Station to mill your opponent for 3 -> Play another 0 cost equipment -> Untap Grinding Station -> Draw a card from Puresteel Paladin -> Tap Grinding Station to mill 3 -> repeat.

Street Wraith and Gitaxian Probe to help cycle though cards, and 2 retracts in the deck as a very situational card. Retract can be good in this deck, it allows you to draw more cards before sacrificing them to Grinding Station, which is great. Unfortunately it feels too situational to run more than 2.

Deck discussion for Slave to the Grind

Nice, fun and simple!

I don't usually like combo decks, but you made an effort to make this work. My only combo deck also uses Grinding Station as a possible win condition, take a look if you feel like it:

I love the concept but I feel like it's missing something and I'm not sure what.

Thank you, feel free to comment directly on the deck if something comes to mind, I would love your insight.

My goal was to have several possible combos, so it is not as efficient as a single combo deck but it is more resistant to combo hate.

Only thing I can think of is Semblance Anvil, I've never seen that combo before but I like it.
