I've been playing a vaguely similar Vamp deck (the first deck I have built since a 10+ year absence from MTG, so be nice!), and I have found that Killing Wave is great for wiping out multiple creatures because if you are gaining life with the vamps, paying some for each of your own creatures shouldn't be a problem, but gives your opponent a difficult choice.
