Deck Description

This was Back a month ago, I was getting feed up with Jund and Vampires being the two decks at FNM that no one could bet. So I thought of going with a different style aka mill.

Now the first FNM I took it to I came in second and has since not been working. I'm open to new ideas. just one thing i would like to keep it type two.

It was given the name by the people i bet at the FNM when it came in second.

Deck discussion for Hyper Mill

It is costly for mana, but haunting echoes can really destroy a library.; especially since youve been milling them for a while by the time you play it. Looks good though.

Haunting Echos is the only thing I can think of, but I've seen decks like this for like a month or so at FNM.

Deft Duelist does not really belong in a mill deck. You aren't looking to win by damage after all, just to make your opponent draw out his library. As for using it to block; you have 4 Wall of Denial in there, so you'll probably end up with one every game. I would swap the Deft Duelists for the mill half the deck card. Forgot what it's called actually Lol.

mrgoodbytes, you are talking about Traumatize. I had forgotten it but it's needed here. Good call.

Traumatize isn't that great in a deck that's truely made to Mill.. By the time you're even able to use it you'll only be Milling 13-15 cards thanks to Hedron Crabs doing all the Milling. After that you'll be using Tome Scour or Archive Trap for much less cost. The real problem with this guy's deck is that all the cards are very mana-cost-heavy when it doesn't need to be and it could be much better.

I would suggest making this deck mono blue and looking into low-cost millers and ways to get them early.

well mill decks are not easy to get around but predictable as soon as they know you are a mill deck they will just full assualt you and try to kill you or my favorite thing to do if i know they are there even if i am not running green put a couple gaias blessings in the deck if you are milling as much as you are you are bound to find one but yeah on to helping
a card that might help you is glimpse the unthinkable since you have twin cast in your deck you glimpe them then twin cast that is 1/3 of a standard deck
and just looking at your side board i am not sure that you will even need the luminar ascenions yes they are good but you are not suppose to focus on damage i would worry more on defense and stalling since you have the milling power in your deck already

Mill decks need to watch out for Bloochief Ascension. Once it goes online, you basically have to scoop.

Otherwise, I would add more "fog spells" and drop the Soul Manipulation and Day of Judgements. Same with the sideboard. Go with as much counter and prevent as you can to keep ur win condition going. If you look at the versions of Jacerator and Turbo Fog u can get some additional ideas.

Another thing, you will run out of gas without a signficant draw engine. I see 2 Jaces there but they won't last long, I suggest some fonts and howling mines.

twincast is a little underwhelming in mill decks, you usually have to hold off on which means not tapping out. But what i found was a good addition was Mind Funeral. not sure if the mana will allow it but its a really good card. Even if they have more then an average amount of land. It will at least grab three, and if they need lands that the last thing they want to see. I would agree with the statement about the duelist its a little underwhelming even as a blocker. So i would maybe take out a few or even a set for more Jace. He give your aminese card advantege, also i tweek your sideboard by putting in more ascensions. that card is excellent in that control match up, but then agian your deck should roll through those really easily aswell. Anywho i hope you found my seggustions helpful
