Deck Description

The first Red Mage: Post Origins is very low curve, goblin-centric, but with a large amount of burn and some mild evasion. After some reflection on past RDWs I've made (particularly my Red Deck Wins...Again), I think it needed a substantial amount of haste to maintain a more overwhelming board presence. So I've brought in Monastery Swiftspear (zomgprowess), Hammerhand (evasion), and Infectious Bloodlust ("card advantage") to push the haste agenda. I took out most of the burn in favor of these. Shaman of the Great Hunt now sits at the top of the curve, also hastey, with the unlikely but conceivable benefit of drawing some cards (with the help of Shivan Reef and Wooded Foothills).

Some other cards I'm thinking of adding are trample and +x/+x combat tricks in green or red (or maybe even blue, anything I can splash into). Call of the Moon, Tread Upon or Awaken the Bear are considerations. Fanatic of Xenagos is also on my radar. Cards I'm considering removing are Hordeling Outburst (too slow), SotGH seems like it might just be too open to every type of removal, Frenzied Goblin is a very slow evasion I might get rid of. Perhaps Green isn't the splash I should be looking for, I'll try to explore Black and White as well.

How to Play
