Deck Description

I am the Red Mage. I finish my match in 5 minutes. I throw away creatures just to deal a few points of damage. I hold 1 land in my hand so that you're too scared to tap out. I topdeck the 4 damage I need to kill you after a boardwipe.

I am the Red Mage, and this is my deck.

How to Play

There's a lot of tiny little synergies that make this build nice:

(honorable mention, removed) Akroan Crusader works well with the auras, not something you want to over-saturate, but it can apply a good damage spread late game.

4x Burning-Tree Emissary is amazing in so many ways; the mana from BT allows you to cast any other spell in the deck (except Boros Charm), even Stoke the Flames can be played with a turn 2 Burning-Tree.

4x Firedrinker Satyr and Rakdos Cackler are your meat and potatoes; nothing too special, but 2 power for 1 mana is exactly what we need.

4x Frenzied Goblin and Hammerhand and Firefist Striker puts your opponent behind in blockers, and in conjuction with one another, your getting a lot of valuable damage through their defenses.

3x Legion Loyalist is an amplifier, of sorts. On it's own it's pretty underwhelming, but it puts the alpha in alpha strike; it will help get that last bit of damage through.

4x Inferno Fist: so utility it hurts. A shock attached to a +2/+0 aura? Get outta here.

(honorable mention, removed) Mogis's Warhound has a solid 2/2 body for 2 mana, and a decent bestow cost at 3 mana.

4x Boros Charm is literally the only reason that white mana is in this deck, and it is well worth it. The 3 modes on this are insane value in RDW.

4x Rubblebelt Maaka: a giant growth for one red mana. This is going to save creatures and get damage through. You will almost never, ever play this as a creature, BUT, you can if you need to.

(honorable mention, removed) Lightning Strike more meat and potatos, but burn. Use as removal or apply directly to the forehead.

4x Stoke the Flames's convoke is absolute madness. The variety of plays that can be made with this card combined the ZOMG4DAMAGE, are you kidding me? Pairs well with the high number of low cost creatures.

The sideboard was made almost exclusively with midrange in mind, since this is where the deck struggles (Selesnya especially, because the removal doesn't work so well):

4x Forge Devil and Nyxborn Rollicker are both 1/1s for 1. Your objective is to, frankly, overextend. Sheer numbers will win you the midrange game. Forge Devil is for dealing with opposing 1 toughness creatures, and Rollicker is supposed to get bestowed so that even when you lose your creature, you still have the Rollicker on board.

(honorable mention, removed) Altac Bloodseeker is something that I just need to test some more. It can result in some pretty nice combat tricks, has synergy with any removal and first strike.

(honorable mention, removed) Fanatic of Mogis is going to deal a lot of damage to the face right at the end of the game, which is exactly what you need as your early creatures are outclassed by their 3/3s and 4/4s.

3x Mizzium Mortars, 4 damage for 2 mana is really solid removal. The overload would be nice if you can get it, but that's very unlikely in this deck.

3x Chained to the Rocks is for those creatures that red just can't deal with. Polukranos, Master of the Waves, Worldspine Wurm? Takes them out.

1x Aggressive Mining..I have no idea how well this will work. I just want to try it. I like the idea of hitting this late game in top deck mode and pulling the burn I need to get through the stalemate.
