Deck Description

I'm a casual player. So all of my decks start with a few cards that I already own and grow from there. I'm not likely to go out and drop $100 on a few cards to make my deck perfect. Even though, I'm open to suggestions! Just keep in mind I try to be budget-friendly.

Anyway, this deck is all about getting wolf tokens on the table. After that, there are a few ways to make them better, but really you just keep trying to get more wolves than your opponent can deal with.

How to Play

The trick is to hit the land gain early by way of Wood Elves, Search for Tomorrow, etc. This allows you to hit Howl of the Night Pack early for the best effect. The Llanowars are there to help cast other things. If you HAVE to you can use them for Howl of the Night Pack, but if you don't have the requisite forests it really feels like a wasted opportunity.

Deck discussion for Wolf Tokens

I'm realizing it's a little light on land, currently. There's plenty of ways to get the land out, so I though I could skimp on a few forests. Turns out I probably need a few more. Candidates for trimming in favor of land are Seedguide Ash, Ivy Lane Denizen, and the Deadly Recluses.

A good way to add mana to the board quickly is cultivate. cheap easy card one that fits budget plans. after doing that you should be able to get enough mana on the field quickly. as far as going a step further on perfecting the deck the only thing I suggest would be to have doubling season. Expensive card but well worth it if youre going to do a token deck. it boosts counters and tokens you create therefore boosting your power. Anytime I look at building a token or a counter stacking deck that is a must for me. that and beastmaster ascension.

Taking out wolfcallers howl and far wanderings will make the deck good for a modern deck just add a few more cards that pull out tokens like spider spawning or another type of wolf seeing as how that's kind of your theme here...

I don't play tournaments or any sort of officiated games. Just with friends, so we don't worry what works for modern, etc. Far Wanderings might come out, I had 2 in earlier but took one out for parallel lives, but Wolfcaller's Howl has kept me alive in more than one game.

Speaking of Parallel Lives, that accomplishes the same as doubling season but without the counters, which I don't generate much of anyway. Plus it's 1/10th the price and 1 less mana.

Seems like a good deck there are a few more cards you could use, but you seem to be going in a different direction. If you want some examples though: Moonmist, Moonlight Hunt, Silverfur Partition, and Mayor of Avabruck.

I'm working on one of these too, but I've never been good at coming up with win conditions could you help me think of one? I could over run them with wolves, but I prefer to have a few options...
