Deck Description

A bit of a challenge I undertook...a friend of mine has a least favorite rare out of Shards, and that happens to be Ooze Garden. The hard part: making a deck centered around it competitive and on a budget. This was what I made, but it still wasn't all that great.

The point of this deck is to put out the cheapest large creatures (often with nasty drawback included) and sacrifice them to Ooze Garden before they start to cause issues. This also works well with 'burn spell creatures' like Spark Elemental. Play them, attack your opponent, and then sacrifice them.

The sideboard contains other cards I think may work well in the deck, but I'm unsure about them. I'd really be happy with some input about those as well as the deck itself, if you have any ideas/comments.

Hey, guys, I have a concept here...if you're going to give the deck a thumbs down, please comment! The point of this is to make the deck suck /less/, so telling me why it's bad would actually help.

Deck discussion for Ooze Garden

the deck looks pretty good considering.
you have to many cards in sideboard BTW.
you should take out force of savagery, thunderscape familiar (or hunted horror), and shambling sheel out from your sideboard

This looks like a pretty neat deck idea.

You could try to use Threaten instead of Grab the Reins. If you plan to just sac it to the ooze. Threaten costs 1 less mana although it is a Sorcery. Maybe even some Giant growths to maximize your ooze tokens. What about some Doomgapes. 7 mana for a 10/10. then you can sac it for a 10/10 ooze token.

I think you could take out the Last Gasps for another Firespout. Maybe can add in some rampant growths too for mana acceleration.

Pretty cool deck so far though.

doubling season would make this deck ridiculous, i no your trying to do this on a budget but a couple of thsoe and garruks with sprouting thrinax could make this deck really good.

Doubling Season would be awesome. If I ever decide to put a bit of money into this, that would be a great idea. I may have to try out the Thrinax, as well. Thanks.

I could see some fun with this and Ball lightning. 6/1 trample with haste and then you get a 6/6.
