Deck Description

More or less, this is a hyper budget version of modern soul sisters. I use Mentor instead of Ranger of Eos to save a lot of money, as well as Journey to Nowhere over Path to Exile. Lone Rider and Selfless Spirit really help this deck be resilient while not destroying your wallet.

SB:(what to bring in)
Selfless Spirit: Control and/or sweepers.
Kataki: Affinity.
Celestial Purge: Any deck with black or red permanents.
Dismember: Creature matchups where more removal is good.
Holy Day: One word....INFECT.
Rest In Peace: Any graveyard deck.
Sundering Growth: Also affinity.

How to Play

Play dudes, gain life, use Mentor of the Meek and Squad Hawk to get card advantage, and BEAT FACE. Pretty simple.

Also, I really love the community here on the Vault, and I would like to see the featured decks being updated. Lets bring the Vault back!

Deck discussion for Crank Dat Soulja Boy

Not a bad take on the Soul Sisters deck. What about Mistmeadow Skulk? That protection from 3+ casting cost really works well, and it has life link.

Due to the current state of modern, with 90% of creatures and removal being under 3 mana, I think its probably a fringe sideboard at best.

There doesn't to be as much life gain cards as there could be.
A combo you could add at least in your side board: Wall of Reverence, Rhox Faithmender, and Serra Avatar. I kid you not I've managed to get my life to over 10 million with this combo.
Warning: It is a costly combo. Serra Avatar is 7 cost and the others are four each. However, with just Serra Avatar and wall of Reverence on the field your life doubles each turn. With Rhox Faithmender, it triples.
Let's say you're still at 20 life when you have all three out. Five turns later, your life is at 1620. Three turns later you're almost at 50K. Two turns=just under 400K.
