Main Deck (63 cards)

Instants (4)

Artifacts (7)

Land (21)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

use discard spells ti reduce the number of cards of the opponent to 0 and then "quest for the nihil stone" and "the rack" will do the rest .

i have to do the sideboard but i think you can give you opinion now

thank you !!!

=)

Deck discussion for Discard ! please comment

How do you propose to keep the opponents at zero cards with howling mines?

I recently added a multiplayer deck that focuses on discarding and discard damage. It's called Don't Fight.
It is red and black.

I like the discard tactic a lot so I like what you are doing as long as you get rid of howling mines and add some megrims or other discard generators. Or if you were using the howling mines to generate cards for yourself just add a tutor or two.

i put the mines in order to increase effect of the discard technique , i mean in turn 4 or 5 its supposed that the opponent has no cards, and liliana card will be not vey useful ... futhermore the effect of the Quest is during the upkeep which is before the draw step(that is when the mine effect happens) , when my turn begins (after his) i will draw 2 cards and i think i will be able to discard his cards, don´t you agree ?

mind sludge comes to mind as well for a mono black deck.

hmmm i don´t like it very much because it costs 5 manas ..... and in turn 5 the opponent has very few cards so it not as useful as it seems i think ....

I suppose in some instances the mines would be helpful, but having the mines and the exact combo of cards consistantly is not a given. If you couldn't force discards or have racks in place or the quest the mines are going to give an unnecessary advantage.

bloodhusk vampire card is good because you can kick it to discard cards as needed and you get a creature on the field. That would be cheaper than the mind sludge.

:O i didn´t think about the vampire , you are right is cheaper , but vampire costs 3 manas and the mindtwist 1 .... and the money is "no problem" ( i mean yo can buy 4 mindtwist by Ebay for 10 - 12 $ the pack)

and about the mine you are right , and perhaps i should put them out , i put because it help me as well , ( as long as there is just one in play, with 2 in play i can´t control the game), i mean when i have no cards in my hand it give me one extra per turn , and in magic you "win easily" if you draw as many cards as you can ^^, and with 19 discards cards ... it unlikely that i have no one in my hand drawing 2 per turn .

:O i´ve just have a great idea , if i add Necrogen Mists, i will be able to miminize "the contralateral effect" of the mine, because I will force to discard a card, suffer the effect of the quest (if he had just 1 card) and then after the damage is done , he would draw 2 cards

is that right ?? :S :S

Let's say you have two mines and one mist out. They all trigger their abilities in the beginning phase. The activated ability of the mist would trigger first because the draw step is the last part of the beginning phase. So they would discard at least one card to start their turn. Then they would draw three.
The beginning phase is laid out as such: untap permanents available for such, and trigger activated abilities. Current player then gets priority for instants and abilities they could cast if they choose, and then they enter their draw step.
The howling mine is activated specifically be the draw step.

But overall, yes the mists would minimize the advantage the howling mines give for sure.

If you have howling mines in this deck add underworld dreams. Bloodchief asscensions possibly? I have a dicard deck aswell, and the bloodchief's help out a lot. I also noticed you have the rack in your deck, i do aswell but i also have the black vise (they take damage for each card over 4 @ the beginning of their upkeep). Just some thought, all those cards together work pretty good in my deck (multi-player my discard deck kicks *ss, it's a little slower in single, i havent gotten around to buying cabal coffers yet lol)

Another card in my deck that helps with discard is Mind Rot. Target player discards 2 cards. (2)b kinda pricey, but it works.
