Deck Description

"Heed my words, for the end is nigh, and GOD will soon bring perfect justice upon this wretched world..."

Said the False Prophet, leading the fools to their demise. Then the End came anyway and he died of a heart attack.

Too bad Academy Rector is far out of my financial reach. Oh well.

How to Play

This is a deck geared toward multiplayer. It is fully capable of delivering Wrath and Armageddon effects turn after turn since your 4th land drop. While weak to combo and turbo aggro pre-sideboard, other decks struggle to keep the board presence and resources they raced to obtain and establish.
The endgame is winning with Barren Glory after casting/discarding extra cards with Peace of Mind (to release yourself from the burdens of the world) and then Renouncing all your previous misgivings - all in the name of achieving a perfect world.

Deck discussion for End of Days

I like False Prophet but think that maybe your doble tapping creature removal with some of your other spells, especially if False prophet is removed along with one of your other board sweepers. Even though the name not as fitting, i would loo Archon of Justice as an alternative. It costs 1 more but allows extra effect from your board sweeps. Just a thought but i really like the theme and application of this deck. Liked.

Archon of Justice, never thought about it. I tried to gather the deck around the theme and flavor. As for False Shepard, he is supposed to be sacrificed with renounce anyway (although renounce is mainly for the combo with barren glory), or get blocked, or anything really. More of a mind game and flavor card than anything :)

And hey, look, this is my comment 100. Yay.

Yeah, you can't beat the theme and False Prophet definitely works, really do like the thought behind this. My only thought was that you would end up losing out on its effect with the multiple sweeps you have out. Plus, now that I think about it, if you run 3 False Prophets, there isn't a need to run 4 Renounce really. I would run a full set of the creature (whether it be False Prophet or whatever) in order to capitalize on its effects and that of Renounce.

I politely disagree. If I were to capitalise on Renounce, I would bump Barren Glory to 4 as well, because this is my main win-con (barring the opponent giving up in rage with exausted resources. By the way, what do you think about the latest addition, a one-of Phyrexian Rebirth? A similar effect with an upside; that's card advantage right there. I am only unsure whether it fits the theme well or not, since it's a different twist on the same tale - but just as cruel and final, if not more.

I understand your point on Renounce and Barren Glory, my counterpoint would be "why not plus both Barren Glory and your creature up?" but as I look through your other selections, I don't know if I would be able to take anything out. Either way, this deck is solid so no matter what recommendations are made, this is a pretty mechanically and thematically great deck.
As for Phyrexian Rebirth, I like it mechanically, though it's effectiveness as a finisher is dependent on how creature heavy the opponent is. Thematically, I would say that its just the right kind of twisted and doesn't mess with the flow.
Bottom line, This would kill (literally) in multi-player.

Haha, yeah, I was intending it to work well for free-for-all. I guess all that is left is to get the cards. ...Oh shit. The moneyz. Well, far from the price of most Legacy-packing decks.

Anyway, thanks for all your comments so far. They have been really helpful in giving me ideas and confidence about the deck. I also could find nothing, nothing at all I could take out so as the have x4 Shepard and Glory... One last thing, where is the follow button? I want to be able to follow your Soldier Spawn and Pre-Orzhov Exalted decks.

No worries and you're right, this deck really is reasonably priced for legacy.

Thanks for the help on my decks as well, much appreciated and if you think of anything else, let me know. I'm still modifying all of the ones in my profile.

As for the follow button, I'm not sure. I just like the deck and follow up every once in a while.
