Deck Description

A quick red deck

(As a side note, I thought it would be noteworthy to say that this deck beat my wife's Angel deck 4 times in a row. She normally would kill me off as early as turn 4 with most other decks.)

Deck discussion for Mountainous Rage

not a bad deck (but not great either) but if u want to try to build an easy mono-red deck try a full assault goblin deck (utilize haste)

Are there any goblin cards that buff each other similar to the way Slivers or Elves do? I have tons of goblins, but their abilities don't really do much good for each other at this point.

Ideally red wants to be as fast as possible, so red decks that focus of bigger creatures is rare so I have no idea how the deck would work (I'm also running on next to no sleep) but you always wanna have 4 Lightning Bolts in your deck if you have red. Hero of Oxid Ridge is also a great card and you want more of him.

Your deck is very scattered, you have a lot of one-ofs and two-ofs, but you should really just pull out the things that are less effective and less efficient in favor of things that are *more* effective. Also, while I love seeing Slag Fiend put to use, you need more Artifacts. Might I reccomend throwing in 4 Shrine of Burning Rage. You don't need Geosurge, just put in Koth of the Hammer, his second ability could really help you, or you can use him to animate your lands to smack them with.

You really just need more experience with Magic in general by the looks of it. Don't be afraid of putting in 4 copies of a card, especially if its a good card. Keep in mind the mana curve, you always want more lower costing spells than you do higher costing spells, this ensures that you will always have something to play.

I'll post again later when I'm not so out of it.

No, you're completely right. It is very scattered, but its mainly because these are the only ones I own. I was waiting until someone gave me some insight before I dropped any money on buying more of any card. I'm a huge fan of 4 of each card, I just don't have the stock in red cards to do so since my main focus is usually on milling other decks or making them discard their hands.

Thanks for the advice, I'll revamp this deck with the cards it should have and I'll go from there.

No problem, just be aware. Koth is expensive, you should wait until you're more comfortable with the game. Then again, good cards usually are. Someone at my local shop said "you gotta pay to play" and I guess thats right! Lol. In time you'll develop an eye for what's good and what's not, it all comes down to experience. :3 Just stick with it.

One thing I do when I'm unsure of a card is I look it up on the Wizards website to see what the fanbase there says about it. What it can be used effectively with, what it shortcomings are, etc

run 4 priest of urabrask. that is a super aggro card because you can drop them all from your hand by only spending 3 mana

Updated and hopefully a vast improvement. Added 4 Shrine of Burning Rage and then couldn't resist adding 4 volt charge to pump it. Plus 4 priest of urabrask because it can't help but love free mana. From the looks of it, it's pretty close to being a standard deck as well.
