Deck Description

Main win condition: [[Vraska, the Unseen]]'s -7 Assassin ability. Lots of low-cost Deathtouch for defense. [[Taunting Elf]] and [[Revenge of the Hunted]] to draw blockers once Assassins are on the field. [[Wasteland Viper]]'s Bloodrush ability pairs excellently with [[Revenge of the Hunted]], +7/+8 Trample Deathtouch which all creatures must block for 2[[Forest]] (assuming Miracle). With [[Culling the Weak]] and high chance of dealing a low-cost creature, [[Vraska, the Unseen]] can get out as early as turn 2, Assassins on the field by turn 4, then cast [[Mogis's Marauder]] to give Intimidate and Haste.

Deck discussion for Gom Jabbar

I did a Google search for "gom jibbar" and ended up here. Apparently I spelled it wrong, and it's actually "jabbar".

Er, that said, Vraska as a win-con seems shaky, especially with only two copies (not counting tutors). Taunting Elf seems like he'd go great with Infect, though, which would also fit the deck's theme very well. And Glissa doesn't live to her full potential in a deck with no artifacts. Maybe find some deathtouch/infect artifact creatures to throw in here?

But really, you should have a backup plan if you don't manage to generate your mini-Phages.

And if you find this post unhelpful and rambling, thank Google and our collective misspellings.

Ha, I was wondering when a fellow Dune fan would end up here. Convenient you happen to be a Magic player as well. Thanks for the reminder, I forgot to change the name here.

I've generally had decent luck drawing Vraska, but Deity of Scars and Reaper of the Wilds are my alternate win-cons. I've found that when I don't draw Vraska, I end up drawing one of them, and in my casual group they do fairly well. Reaper of the Wilds is a somewhat underrated card in my opinion. She's actually won the game for me nearly as often as Vraska's little blades.
While I am dismayed that Glissa's second ability goes to waste here, she is the perfect blocker (again, in my circle) and discourages a lot of attacks that would have happened otherwise. Unfortunately, none of the deathtouch artifact creatures are G/B (excluding Wurmcoil Engine). I'll consider switching deathtouch out for infect as an alternate win-con. Revenge of the Hunted and Taunting Elf would certainly become even more useful.
