Deck Description

I'm building Pauper initially. Sideboard lists cards I'll add if I like the deck.

It's built for Commander or 100-card Oathbreaker. When playing Commander, shuffle Xenagos, the Reveler, and Revel of the Fallen God into the deck. When playing 100-card Oathbreaker, shuffle Xenagos, God of Revels, into the deck.

Really, just wanted to build a deck around Satyrs. Satyrs like to party which usually involves a lot of destruction. So it's as many Satyrs as I could fit in a RG deck along with destroying alot things (mostly artifacts). Satyrs like to drink and when someone gets drunk, they're more prone to getting into a fight so there are a lot of Fight effects.

The name comes from Satyrs being part animal and liking to party. They're basically the frat boys of Greek mythology. Since they're the frat boys of Greek mythology, it's a reference to National Lampoon's Animal House.

There aren't enough Satyrs in RG to make the deck actually considered Tribal, so I added things to create tokens of Satyrs to make up the difference.

How to Play

Get Satyrs into play, pump them up, and Fight or attack. Basically, Red/Green stompy with drunken flare.

Getting Myr Landshaper, Thran Forge, and/or Liquimetal Coating into play helps open up the possibility of targets to destroy. Thran Forge gives the added bonus of making your Satyrs more aggressive.

The spells with Buyback are great for any creature, but particularly for Setessan Oathsworn and Satyr Hoplite since they get bigger when you target them with spells. You can even target them with Fanning the Flames for 0 damage just to pump them up. They should get big enough to Fight nearly anything.

You should be able to destroy what's in your way then attack with Satyrs to win. But the deck is really just for fun so if it doesn't work out, just enjoy causing mayhem.

The deck works better in Oathbreaker than Commander because...

When playing Oathbreaker, Xenagos, the Reveler, and Revel of the Fallen God make for both great creature production and mana ramp. Use Xen's 0-loyalty to produce Satyrs which ups the amount of mana his +1 ability gives you. Once you have enough mana to cast Revel, start doing that every turn using Xen's +1 ability and whatever mana from lands you have available. The cost of Revel goes up by 2 every time you cast it, but the 4 Satyrs it gives you enables Xenagos to produce 4 more mana every turn. So you're really gaining 2 mana every turn. All that mana is good for a few X-cost spells and spells with Buyback.
