The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...
Start typing a card name and use the auto-complete feature to quickly select the card you're trying to add. Enter a quantity and add that card to your sideboard!

I am trying to create a fast-paced Persist Deck that has survival, but this totally depends on Heartmender. I would like help to perhaps add another combo that is Vintage (T1) playable. Quillspike + Rendclaw Trow + Golgari Rotwurm sac trow to rotwurm, target player looses one life. trow comes back, remove -1/-1 from trow, quillspike gets +3/+3, rinse and repeat. Quillspike gets huge and target player looses life each time. Add a Rite of Consumption and "fling" quillspike at opponent.

You need Quillspike.
Thanks guys, I will add 4x Quillspike and drop down the high mana costing creatures to x3.
try adding cards like birds of paradise and dark ritual for some mana acceleration to make your deck faster
check power conduit, and maybe the graft land (green) and indeed devoed druid is really nice with powerconduit and devoted druid.
oh and remove giant growth, its useless since it isn't even able to get rid of a -1/-1 counter
murderous redcap is also a very nice persister, though its 2 black mana in this deck ....

if you add devoted druid you can have an infinite combo with quillspike for a win. quillspike+devoted druid=infinite big creature then rite of consumption. add flourishing defenses, infinite creatures check out my deck in progress... http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=51634
ok... u need mana acceleration so i would go with DARK RITUAL I would also go with: SOLDEVI ADNATE (this card is cheep - sacrifice a persister, he comes back and u get like 3 or 4 mana) you need to empty out your hand as fast as possible... u NEED quillspike cus its your only win condition (if u really don't to put him in use FALLEN IDEAL - thats another win condition)
