This deck was inspired by the +1 ability on Elspeth, Sun's Champion. I figured with a selection of soldier creatures that spawn 1/1 soldier tokens, instant and sorcery cards that produce even more 1/1 soldiers, and enchantments and artifacts that give +1/+1 to everything, and vigilance to the tokens, then it would be possible to field a Huge army of 1/1 soldiers in very little time and then make them all 2/2 or 3/3 and defend while constantly generating more minions until you can get Elspeth's max ability and win.
Ballyrush banneret is important to decrease the cost of all the non-token soldiers, and Preeminent Captain is for quick additional damage with some of the other soldiers, but most importantly it is for putting Odric, Master Tactician onto the battlefield for free and controlling your opponent's defenses. You would want to start this deck off by playing a Precinct Captain or suspending Benalish Commander and then casting one of the sorcery or instants that gives you 1/1 tokens and then once you've accumulated enough Plains you can get the larger soldiers out like Captain of the Watch or hopefully one of the Elspeths, and proceed to mass produce soldier tokens and overwhelm your opponent with soldier tokens.
