Deck Description

So at the time undying was a mechanic that seemed cooler than it actually was...
Now the reasons I like undying are 2 fold...
1) Thanks to Khans of Tarkir we now junk rares like Retribution of the Ancients and Hardened Scales both of which (especially together) make the Undying mechanic HILARIOUS!
2) A discussion I was a part of recently forced me to show someone that, was BASHING MTG:R&D for junk rares, even junk rares have value, one simply must find it.

I've been toying with the idea of adding the following: Blasting Station, Jinxed Idol, Bontu the Glorified, and Vampiric Rites...

How to Play

The undying creatures are the fuel and fodder that makes the rest of the deck go around so don't feel sorry for them and just abuse them like pokemon...
Hex Parasite is there to buy time to run into a Retribution, its also planeswalker hate
Blood Artist drains life for you buying you extra turns, or wins the game.
Viscera Seer will allow you to scry into any card you want just Retribution in between
Altar's Reap draws extra cards & Evolutionary Leap pay {G} draw a dude
Plunge into Darkness against BURN = LOLZ!!!
Golgari Charm + Blood Artist + suckers who love Lingering Souls = I win?
Abrupt Decay because it hits MOST everything in modern, ESP. graveyard hate
And Pithing Needle for the things you don't want happening to you

{*SIDEBOARD*}
Abrupt Decay and Golgari Charm have 2 extra just in case
Plunge into Darkness and Pithing Needle have 1 extra
Geth's Verdict is in there for the few Boggles or similar decks you run into
Bone Splinters is there for extra removal, may be replaced with Tragic Slip
Evil Presence is there cuz Tron still exists and its a $.05 shut down also it is super fun when you take a man-land away from your opponent with nonsense like Evil Presence

Deck discussion for Undying Retribution

I like this one. Add Skisdag High Priest and you will be able to make demon tokens every turn... It worked for me well when I used to play undying/morbig deck.
Also Tragic slip is great removal for just 1 mana in the deck where your creatures are to die often.
Maybe Rancor would be worth adding as it returns to your hand.
And finaly, with so many sac outlets, I would suggest Grave Pact as 1-of :)

Oh i went through the entire list but ultimately decided against anything that requires death of my creatures simply for the sake of speed (except for Blood Artist... cuz DRAIN!), and also believe it or not things only die every turn when you can combo off which isnt always the case. I wanted the deck to be fast enough to be competitive while also gaining momentum in the long game. The really funny thing is that Tragic Slip AND Grave Pact were in the original draft of this deck both were taken out for speed and in the case of Tragic Slip redundancy. Also I was working with a budget mana base so things got dropped cuz they would play too late or took too much dedication, for instance, Caravan Vigil I wanted in there cuz it replaces its card and mana advantage as it replaces itself with morbid, but was taken out because the turn 2 required was impossible but now isnt worth it... things like that...
Bring it back though man, undying is better than persist people just aren't ready to see it.
