Deck Description

I decided the other day to build an ally deck, but I really thought that I could improve upon it a little. This is a combo rainbow deck. It's part Ally, but the real underlying strategy is to bring out the lands/creatures along with Terra Eternal to decimate them. Please, let me know what you think about it. Keep in mind, I like to keep my decks Standard tournament ready...

Deck discussion for Sleight of Hand (Please comment!)

Alright, well, I never criticize without play testing, and with a mighty printer, I proxied the deck. And here's what I came across : I found that although a novel idea, I too thought that using Terra eternal would be a great strategy, although, I find myself unable to reach anywhere close to turn 8. You have certain allies that I find silly in this deck such as Halimar Excavator. Halimar Excavator, is a mill ally, beautiful in what it does, you can't expect to use it as a win condition in this deck, therefore, I found it utterly useless. Having these super fancy lands doesn't make up for it's inability to survive longer than turn 6. Out of the 12 games I've played using this deck, I got around to turn 6 each time. In my alterations of the deck, I took out Nimana Sell-sword and put in more Ondu cleric. By giving my creatures protection, it allowed more survivability. Another thing I changed up was putting in 4 Guardian Zendikon, 4 Perimeter Captain, And 3 more Makindi shieldmate. To make room for these cards, I took out Stirring Wildwood, Halimar Depths, Creeping Tar Pit, Dragonskull Summit, and a few others of the type. This allowed for better health regeneration. Now as for the missing win condition, I added, 3 Everflowing chalice for colorless mana, and taking out the kitesail, and spidersilk net. This allowed for the lands to be played much more efficiently. My final change to the deck was taking out a single Graypelt Hunter, and adding a Cunning sparkmage to work nicely with the Basilisk Collar. My overall notes on the deck is, while novel in the idea, has a LOT of room for improvement, and at that point, is not worth the ingenuity of the mind to continue the impossible. Tournament tested : April 3 2010, placed 5 of 8. Wanna take a look at one of my decks? Comment for comment?
