Scheduled Downtime - 24 Mar 2011 13:00 (Server Move)

Hey Guys,

This is just a quick news post to let you know we are moving server today, but in order to do this move we need to turn the sites off for a bit. Expect the sites to go down around 13:00 UTC and hopefully (as we're doing it on lunch at work) the sites will only be down for about an hour! ;)

The forums should stay up during this time as we'll be moving them over separately!

Not sure if there is really anything interesting to say about the maintenence :p

We are moving server, as we outgrew our old one - so hopefully this solution will be much more cost effective, but also more powerful. It also gives us more control, so hopefully we'll can add some more interesting server side features too ! (pretty urls for example).

To keep you updated, we are just moving the database over, so should be up within the next hour.

Didn't the previous host support mod_rewrite?

We are using .NET / IIS :) Where we were previously hosted we had no control over IIS functionality - now we do!

I see, sorry for the confusion - your forum is hosted on an Apache 2.2 server and the main site is down so :)

Anyhoo, hope to see it up soon again.

Ok, we're getting there... At the moment we know news isn't coming through onto the sites, we're looking into it. If you come across any problems, please let us know in here! :P
