New Sponsor - Dragon Slayer Online

Hello all

As you may have noticed, we have a new sponsor in our tower position across the MTG Vault site! The shop in question is Dragon Slayer Online. They have some great competitions on site, as well as a fantastic collection of singles.

They don't just do MTG cards, but have also started writing a new book and have given us a spoiler to put onto the site! So here goes:

Prologue

Silence fell over a musty cobble stone classroom within the confines of an old clerical school. Many Children of all ages circle around an elderly looking gentleman sitting in the corner smoking a well-used Corncob pipe. He sat upon a chair which looked like it was made out of dilapidated wicker and sinew. His light grayish blue garb flowed around his feet and a pointy top hat barely covered his silver mane. A long, grey, unkempt beard flowed from his chin to his hands where he clutched an old dusty book. His shaking hand grasped on into the binding and slowly opened it up to the first page. With a whisking away of his beard that got caught in the remaining pages, his eyes rolled up over is his small oval shaped glasses to see if the classroom was paying attention.

“Today class I shall start with the beginning of all things.” The old man cleared his throat and began to read out of the grimy tome.

“In the beginning, the Elder gods created our world. The firmament was void and had no form. Jeramic, God of all Gods, breathed upon the void. A great burst of radiant light fell upon its face. The tides of illumination swept over the void like the luster of an thousand oceans.

“With a great upheaval the plains and pastures of the world were born. Young and fertile the plains gave rise to life: trees, plants and creatures not unlike ourselves. Over the course of millennia, the creatures began to develop thought and self-consciousness. These creatures he would call High Elf’. Jeramic looked upon the face of the world and saw that it was good.”

“From beneath the world, Jeramic pushed together the plains and with great quakes of earth dawn the mountains. From the molten rock sprung new life. Having been born of the earth, they lusted over the metals and riches that the earth had bestowed upon them. Never coming out of the mountain, they created vast networks of mines and underground kingdoms. While being in long-term confinement these creatures never grew to proper size. Jeramic looked at these mortals and named these the ‘Dwarfs of Ironstone’. The God of all gods gave the domain to his brother Grixxis of the plane Chaos. Jeramic looked upon the face of the world and saw that it was good.”

“From the ashes of the mountains of chaos arose another type of life. Something the gods could not control. Their power which would know no bounds would rival the authority of Jeramic. With black hearts and the breath of flame they took to the skies. Burning and devouring the ash that they laid pray to. No mortal could withstand the might of the Dragon.”

A small boy slowly rose up in the back of the class, his clothing being of poor stature and knees scraped from climbing rocks and trees. His hair matted to one side and a mild odor came from the body of the frail child. With a meek gesture he slowly raised his hand.

“Good… good sir?” He hesitated. The old man slowly raised his head in acknowledgment with a certain sense of annoyance upon his face. "Yes, boy, what does it?" The old man said in a low voice. Before the boy could utter a single word the door to the schoolhouse was violently kicked open. Within the doorway a man stood clad in brilliant full plate armor with sword in hand and a look of trepidation upon his brow.

“Drakon!” The man yelled. “There are bloody Drakon everywhere! Get the children underneath the Temple for safekeeping.”

The man stepped back from the doorway and spoke to another gentleman in full plate. “They sent their bloody drones to scout out their next target.” He spoke in a stern voice.” Get the men up top and man the ballista. We can't let them get back with reports of our keep.”
