I don't get to play MTG as often as I like (once in the past 8 months) so I was wondering if there is any free software that would allow me to play magic against AI; I have 'Cockatrice' but do not have a fast enough connection to join the server. Please Helps?

Magic Workstation is the old standby for a lot of players I know, just download it from their website and install the patches. It's a pain to get images in there, so be warned. I think some people still use Apprentice, but I always hated that program so I can't really recommend it in good faith.

I used Apprentice pre-WotC buy out. I don't know if anything's changed with it, but I never had any problems with it when I used it.

I think most people do use MWS though.

I usually play on gamesiplay .com you just have to take the time to set up your account and deck but it doesn't require you to download anything and it supports several other tcg games
