Stack Drafting
Not sure if this should be in the Varients forum instead but...
I made a new(maybe) kind of draft.
I'll explain it:
For each player in the draft, you put 20 cards(ratios right now are 10 commons, 7 uncommons, and 3 rares and/or mythics, can be adjusted), into a single pile, or stack. Make sure no basic lands or tokens/ruletips are in the stack.
While not required, it'll help with shuffling and help guarentee the ratio per 20if you make the stack seperate 20 count piles, then shuffle each pile and then put the piles one by one onto the stack.
Once the stack is made, each player rolls a D20(for decreased chance of getting a same roll as someone else). If 2 or more players get the same number, those player roll again until all end up with the different number.
After numbers are set, the player who got the highest number takes a card from the top of the stack without looking at it and puts it in from of them. The player with the second highest number then takes a card off the top without looking and so on. Once the last player takes a card off the stack, the player with the highest number takes another card and so on. Repeat until the stack is empty.
Each player should have 20 cards each. Once it's confirmed, they make a deck as normal draft rules, with the exception that deck size minimum is 30 instead of 40.
So, too complex? Too much hassle? What do you think?
