Deck Description

To our newer gatherers:
please don't let what people tell you sway your opinion either way. most things people say are either only true outside of casual magic, where the newer players dwell, or will vary depending on who you ask. For example, if someone tells you to drop a large amount of money (or any amount really) to put more copies of a card in your deck, make sure that you really want to get into the game first. if you spend a lot of money on a first deck, and later decide that you don't really want to get into the game, then you would have wasted your money. playing casual with friends or something is fine, and if you want to take it to the next level, do so, but not just because somebody tells you to.

Magic: the gathering is a great game, and I would recommend for anyone to try it, but if you don't want to play seriously, don't let other people tell you what to do.

thank you for your time, and as always, enjoy Magic.

Deck discussion for README: newer players

I can't fully endorse your claim like I would support the one on the mainpage. I think building a Magic deck is an incredibly immersive experience. When I started Magic, I used pre-con decks until I was ready to build a deck. Then, I built a simple decks, a Megrim deck when the card came out and a bunch of ways to make someone discard. But ultimately, good deckbuilding practices transcend level of play. Sure, you shouldn't sink tons of money into something you don't know if you want to keep, but to build a truly effective deck will make MTG that much more fun. I have started building very complex decks and I can honestly say it makes me love the game more than just saying "Now discard a card, cool, I attack with these rats, cool." Play however you want, sure, but don't gimp yourself by not listening to advice from others.

I don't completely disagree that good deckbuilding requires some cash, however, I don't like that being pushed on people.people should advance at their own pace, and some people are just rude about it.
