Not sure about Duress... Tempted to add another mesmeric orb and surgical.

Either this or 2x Visions of Beyond

At this point I'm considering how to deal with countermagic and reducing the creature count for removal slots.

I am currently looking at spell pierce in the maindeck and adding Tormod's crypts to the sideboard. Graveyard removal will ensure I can win against grave-decks and means I don't need creatures as an alt win con which are difficult to run at best and prevent me from actually winning at worst.

Oops sorry! I listen to a channel on youtube called Widek Music too much.

Sanity grinding works well with chancellors and archive traps, there are plenty of UU costs to experiment with. It may not be useful enough but Ive never had a chance to test it.

Think about boomerang for the sideboard as well actually. You're going to need some bounce effects

My advice for monoblue mill: drop trepanation blade, replace drowners with hedron crabs.

Play 4x chancellor of the spires with 4x sanity grinding. Consider mesmeric orb and shriekhorns. I feel like archive trap should be in your maindeck too.

Your sideboard is liklely to need 4x echoing truth. Surgical extraction is available to you due to phyrexian mana. Grafdigger's cage might prove helpful, depending on meta. Ensnaring bridge is a strong option, as is snapcaster but these cards are expensive.

Snapback is a very fun card, Disrupting Shoal can be powerful as a 1-2 of, also consider Mindbreak Trap (counters eldrazi/uncounterable spells/graveyard creatures).

There's a zombie themed mill deck that plays: http://tappedout.net/mtg-card/undead-alchemist/ which may be fun on its own and give you some fight against heavy creature matchups which blue hates.

For other mass creature solutions think about

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=366273
-type effects. Maybe you can do something cool with
http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=383351

Anyway some stuff to think about. Widek is working on a stable U/B mill list for 'raw' milling while I prefer Esper for more control and defensive options. Both have a reasonable success rate, maybe you can do something really powerful with monoblue, you'll probably need to take elements from both me and Widek. Feel free to keep in the discussion and let us know how you get on with this deck

Woo! I'm actually having to drop the verdicts because it can take anywhere from 0 to 9 draws to get the 2 W mana up. It's especially bad since I put them in to deal with merfolk and they will spreading seas the shit out of me. Got any suggestions? I've seen an esper mill deck run 4 delver in the side but not sure why.
