This is a combo deck that plays much like the old Splinter Twin decks. In the early stages of the game, it has Serum Visions to fix draws and counterspells, Bolt, & Izzet Charm to disrupt the opponent's game plan. The win condition is playing Thopter Engineer, Pia & Kiran Nalaar, or Blinkmoth Nexus into Shape Anew, which puts Blightsteel Colossus into play. Thopter Engineer is the ideal card to pair with Shape Anew because of its ability to give Blightsteel Colossus haste and win on the spot as early as turn 4. One of the nightmare scenarios is ending up with both copies of Blightsteel in hand, but even if that happens, Izzet Charm and Desolate Lighthouse are both capable of shuffling it back into the library. Although the combo is the primary win condition, the deck can occasionally win by keeping the opponent off balance and pressuring their life total with thopters, Fumaroles, and Bolts.
