This is an idea that I had based on the stories of Urza and Mishra. They leveled an entire plane using artifacts and no colored magic. This is the army of someone who wants to...expand on that style.For the time being, the sideboard section is going to be used as an acquire board or for cards I'm toying with the idea of adding until I get this deck set the way I want it.
The strategy is pretty obvious. I have nothing but golems and things that buff golems. There are multiple combos here that make themselves apparent. If you can get Archetype of Courage out along with Darksteel Forge, the majority of the deck becomes both hexproof and indestructible.Mycosynth Golem is a crux of this deck's premise. With it out and a few zero drop artifacts, things become cheap or free pretty quickly. I would have multiples of it, but it's a rather expensive card for my budget.Conjurer's Closet is in for the purpose of blinking Splicers out and back in so they make more golems.With such a big, funky mana curve, I decided a pair of Sheltered Aerie was the least I could do to help with that. And that extra mana will certainly come in handy when you manage to get something big out and Mirrorworks is down. Just spent 8 mana on an indestructible 10/10 defender? Spend 10 mana and get two instead!For removal, I settled on fight cards because, with the size of the creatures in this deck, if you don't have something big enough to kill your problem creatures, the deck wasn't kicking off for you anyway.
