Thanks for the suggestion. I'm new to EDH and quickly learned that after a few games.

Yeah, I was looking at the Lobotomist the other day, but I ultimately think that he's too slow to be worth it. Also, since most things (at least, most things I play against) which target creatures are kill spells, it seems redundant to get rid of the "Phantasmal Phrase" for one more mana. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah cards like Elixir of Immortality really screw a milling deck over. Not a bad idea. Maybe I'll put Nihil Spellbomb or Tormod's Crypt in the sideboard. Thanks.

I checked it out, but unfortunately I know next to nothing about playing red, so I'm afraid I can't really give you any advice or suggestions. Sorry

Haha I used to run a similar strategy using Path to Exile when I ran Esper mill. Unfortunately, it doesn't force my opponent to search, it says they "may". Since I play casually with a relatively small group of people, they tend to catch on pretty quickly and never end up searching.

I would say lose Increasing Confusion. It seems nice, but when you compare it to other milling cards, it just doesn't compare.

For example, Glimpse the Unthinkable is 2 mana to mill 10 cards, an average of 5 cards per mana. With Increasing Confusion, the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM of cards per mana spent on it approaches 2 as the amount of mana spent increases to infinity.

I would definitely drop IC for Mind Sculpt in order to maximize efficiency. Take a look at my most recent mill deck if you want some ideas:

Hope this helps!

If you mean Mind Sculpt, I'm currently considering it as my deck seems to have too much control and not enough mill. Thanks for the suggestions

Dream Twist is essentially 3 mana to mill 6 cards. If you want a mono-blue milling card, use Mind Sculpt instead, or if you want to take your risk on the few black mana you have in your deck, you could use Glimpse the Unthinkable for 2 mana miill 10.

Also, if you're using Jace's Erasure to mill, you might want to consider Howling Mines for a 2 mana artifact which causes both players to draw an extra card at each draw step. Good for consistent mill when used alongside Erasure.

Hope this helps, and glad to see my deck helped you make your own!

I definitely would run Jace, but my friends and I prefer to play without planeswalkers. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. I usually don't run traumatize because it doesn't do anything until turn 5, and by that point it's usefulness decreases every turn. If I don't have it to play on turn 5, it just isn't worth it. I don't want it early game and I don't want it late game. I might add Mind Funeral and Haunting Echoes though.

I used to run Haunting Echoes in my old mill deck which was less aggressive, and although I was skeptical of it at first, it proved to be extremely useful, reducing my opponent's deck to not much other than lands.

Because unless I'm playing a deck that searches the library, it's a 3 more mana for 3 more cards than Glimpse, not worth it. If I decide to splash white in the deck for Path to Exile, I'll probably mainboard it then.

Sheoldred might be too slow for your deck. If you're playing aggro, you're going to want to kill your opponent before you would have the ability to play and use it. You might want to consider Fume Spitter for a 1-drop creature with control potential.

Could you check out my mill deck and tell me what you think?

I like the idea of this deck. Let your opponents play stuff so you can take it from them.
Have you considered Phantasmal Image for a cheap copy?

Also, could you check out my Black/Blue mill deck and let me know what you think?

For Nemesis of Reason? I think counter spells would work better for keeping him safe.

You might want to consider taking out Millstone. It's too expensive and slow to really be effective at milling. Also, try to give it more focus. Take out some of the singletons and go up to four Hedron Crabs and Tome Scours. Finally, if you're using Jace's Erasures, you should take full advantage of it by using draw artifacts such as Howling Mine and Temple Bell. It's a good start but could use some work.

Hope this helps some. If you get the chance, could you take a look at the mill deck I just recently made and tell me your thoughts? Thanks

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I usually think level cards are a bit too slow to be effective, but I can always playtest it and see how it runs with my deck. Unfortunately, I don't have much "extra" space in my deck just about everything in it is a necessity.

With $562,500, you could:

*Buy a Ferrari.
*Buy a decent house in a nice neighborhood.
*Help a charity pay for a school for needy children in Africa.

OR, buy this deck (at a cost of a cool $7,500 each), and proceed to crown yourself King of Magic.

I'm thinking the last option is the most practical.
