I love the image of him being a bond villain, spinning round on an obelisk stroking an eldrazi spawn with a tentacle 'Mr. Vol... I've been expecting you'

Emrakul isnt a "him"

this deck seems to have a lot going on....feels like there would be consistency issues

In my opinion he is, does it really matter? There aren't consistency issues, and I'm not sure where you could see them?

your opinion on the subject doesnt matter, Maro has straight up said that Emrakul is a female. downvoting me because youre butthurt does nothing.

Just piss off, I've NEVER seen you say something nice on a deck, you're always just a dick and I don't want that on my decks, so if you post again, I'll just delete it.

wow this is cool! i never really thought of through the breach/shift. im sad it cant run counterspells, but black allows alot of sb customization. i think 1-of grislebrand might help out

That is a brilliant idea, in the board or main? What to cut?

0

i like it mainboard, maybe move 1 baloth to the sb to make room

0
Posted 06 January 2015 at 23:48

Only issue is baloth saves me against aggro, although I let a delver deck punch me for 5 turns and then scape shifted for the win

i know they are good, just think 3 would work, or maybe even go three emrakul. you have to think haow often you actually want the chance of multiples

I think 3 emrakuls!

If anyone knows Francis also known as boogie2988(search him up on youtube he is really funny) if he was playing against this deck after you get out your Emrakul he would probably flip the table over, flip you off and walk away. +1

Yep! I did that against someone, he had lethal on board, had played is delver deck perfectly and then T5 I just went 'Scapeshift win?' and that was my first play of the game that wasn't a land xD

im curious how you win on turn 5 with scapeshift if you didnt play any other spells......

scapeshift and valakut combo

which cannot happen on turn 5 without playing additional spells, but thanks for trying.

0
Posted 30 January 2015 at 07:01

actually you are right i think you need atleast 6 lands for it to work so you can scapeshift for 5 mountains to go with valakut

0
Posted 30 January 2015 at 16:06

7 is win.. 2 valakut 5 mountain. thats why alot of decks dont have valakuts and 2-3 scapeshift as a backup plan. if you want to run scapeshift well you build a deck around it where you ramp out lands so you can still win turn 4-5

0
Posted 30 January 2015 at 16:22

you have to get 6 mountains and a valakut. Valakut does not trigger on the 5th mountain, it triggers on the 6th. 7 lands is the minumum win threshold with a single valakut without prismatic omen, 6 with prismatic omen. to be able to trigger valakut with a double valakut, you need to be at 8 lands. Im not questioning how Valakut/Scapeshift works, I played the deck for over a year. I am questioning how he was able to win on turn 5 with a scapeshift and no other spells.

0
Posted 30 January 2015 at 16:30

wow yea i just typed that wrong its 6-1. my buddy runs scapeshift exsclusively and its great for me to playtest against.. turn 5 wins= impossible without land ramp

Its ok, its a fairly complicated concept, I watched a guy intentionally drop from GP Minneapolis on day 2, because he had been double valakuting his opponents on 7 lands. obviously by the time someone finally pointed out his mistake, he was on day 2 of a Grand Prix, and there was no way to fix the damage or retroactively give his opponents the wins, but you could tell the guy wasnt cheating intentionally, just by his body language, and the fact that he sought out a judge to explain what happened and offer his resignation, if you will.

But it goes to show....you should know your deck and exactly how it does what it does.

oh man that would be bad... yes the combo really takes alot of seeing it in action and playing it out and doing the math to fully comprehend. locally i see alot of people simply scoop to a cast scapeshift, and i know for a fact one wasnt a win, the guy playing it just assumed this player was bad (he was right) and would just assume he lost (he was right) people seem to gloss over the actual interaction

Just played 2 games, 1st vs delver, which i won with scapeshift, and the second against big zoo which just beat me (I was so close!) because my annihilator didn't get there!

0

yes zoo is a hard matchup, they have alot of early board prescence. beating delver is solid though!

0

Affinity is harder... lost hard to that! Just beat tron by going hard way valakut! 15 damage to them from mountains is 1 turn!

0

with the non basic land valakut u swap out 7 lands to deal 21 damage

Oh sorry I miss read valakut. Very cool deck though. +1

0

Thanks and it can actually take a lot fewer mountains due to people damaging themselves, I've done it on T4 against delver because he thought i was screwed as I didn't play a spell till I won!

Sneak Attack > Through the Breach here, since you don't have any arcane spells to splice onto. Does the same job, except it's an enchantment that costs {r} to use.

Its also Legacy unfortunately, this is basically trying to make Sneak and Show in modern

Wouldn't Spawnsire of Ulamog be better to bring Emrakul into play?

0
Posted 10 January 2015 at 15:33

Definitely not, it has 7 power, Emrakul has 15, with manabases usually putting people down to 15 and this is more of a combo deck to kill them as soon as you resolve through the breach

That makes sense. in regards to your offer to help competitive modern play. the basis for my decks might not be up to par, But can you give me your opinion on the Decks Lifepain and Blasphemous tri-colored Goblins. The goblins isn't for competitive. My wife just wanted three color goblins and I kind of did the best I could. Lifepain is my main Casual Modern deck and minus the fact I have no shock land or Serra ascendant's. is there other places that need improvement? thanks in advance.

If you want I can try and find a more affordable modern list, not of this, but just so you can enjoy competitive modern, that goes for anyone reading, I'm happy to help all get competitive

I have made 6 under- $100 modern decks that can be competitive. Tell me what type of deck you want or your play style/ favorite colors and I can work on it

You could probably take steps like replacing Emrakul with Worldspine, etc.

Although that does make the deck so much weaker if you dont insta kill

Just a question: Do you set Chalice of the Void mainly at '1' against delver and '0' against affinity?

0
Posted 16 January 2015 at 04:11

It really depends if you are on the play or not. Any cantrip combo deck like storm or ascendency i play it on 1, if I'm on the play against affinity then yes, if I'm not its unlikely i will put it in. Delver isn't something I'd put it in against as it feels more like you've missed the boat unless you are on the play. Chalice is there to kill combo mainly, but it can morph into an anti aggro card, although the main deck is good against aggroo

Hey guys, does Golgari Grave Troll fit into re animator decks? Did Pod deserve to be banned? Come voice your opinions here:

Pod is stale and needs banning to spice the format up, they really are shaking it up! The kiki-jiki or abzan pod decks will survive because they are just good decks

Ya, I agree, I predicted Pod would be banned, no one believed me, but here we are, and no one can still believe it.... I think it is good for the modern community, but I do know one guy who JUST finished foiling out his pod deck.... Noble heir he's and everything... He is gonna be pissed......
