Looks fun. I would suggest boarding in a Notion Thief or two for match-ups against other control decks. Pretty entertaining when your opponent tries to Sphinx's Rev at the end of your turn then you flash out a Notion Thief and steal their draws.

Yeah just added it. Been seeing more Blood Baron decks so it's a good one to have

Tested with the Deathrites and I've had some more success!

Played against a deck similar to this recently. Only difference I could see is that they ran a couple Perplexing Chimeras (prob in the sideboard). It shut down my removal long enough to get them the lethal swing since they were redirecting all the destroy creature effects to my bigger blockers. Just something to think about since, really, this deck is pretty solid.

Deathrites add some more GY interaction for sure and this is also mainly due to what I currently have in my collection and to also make sure there's green mana open to fuel Scavenging Ooze. Can't tell you how many times that little guy saved a game because I was able to keep munching graveyards to always stay out of range of lethal. I will try to get a playset of the shamans and test it out though to see if there's a big difference.

I went -2 charm and +2 needle though to still account for this since the power of the needle should not be understated :)

Haven't needed it so far, but it's always a solid option to shut down some scarier cards. It's a good one to keep in mind based on your local store's metagame.

Way more creative than most of the affinity decks I've seen in the format. Love it.

Out of curiosity, would it be advantageous to drop an Archetype of Imagination in there to fetch with Enduring Ideal as well? That way, all your opponents creatures no longer have flying which strengthens your lockdown. CMC is high though so I'm not 100% on that. What are your thoughts?

And now that I think about it, if Furnace of Rath is out, you could make the Reckoner indestructible w/ lifelink, hit him for even just 1 from the staticaster which would then translate into 2 damage. He would target himself and in turn hit for 4, then 8, then 16 etc so you could keep ramping up the damage infinitely as well and redirect to your opponent for the win!

I was aware of that combo but never thought to try to fit it into the mainboard. I suppose it would be a decent sideboard option though since it has additional utility other than just lifelink.

I actually always have the mana to play Furnace. All of my lands produce red so it's not an issue. Burn at the Stake does tend to have less utility from playtesting though. Chain Reaction seems like a good option.

I made some changes via my more serious version of this deck that I have played at my local store. Find it here:

Thanks for the suggestion. Ghostway is cute but I don't know if it has the right utility in this deck. Norn's Annex is a great SB option though. Would you suggest that over Sphere of Safety? Or take something else out for it?

Predatory focus is fun too. Play it then turn em all sideways. Blocks or not, all that damage is going through to the player.

This deck definitely inspired me. I made a not so budget take on this deck for Modern. Cheers for the weenie army!
