Deck discussion for The Goats Have Arrived

There's a few white goat token cards. Also, most of your goats are beasts

white goats just don't have the pizzazz of red goats. Besides, what goat isn't a beast? Goats are evil wee blighters.

so confused why harmless kitten is in this deck. tribal goats (got ya) don't waste the kitten though....

another guy made a point of using harmless offering to hand them a mountain for the mountainwalk. i decided it made sense and added it.

i think if this is goat deck u should add more goats. U only have 2 different goats and theyre not very different. both 1/1's with mountainwalk.

if he wants to give his opponent lands then he should put bazaar trader in this deck even though it isn't a goat or beast.

Pathbreaker Ibex
Mountain Goat
Zodiac goat

These are the creatures i can find with goat in their creature type, excluding Sheep and goat tokens. As I'm not overly fond of making a R/G deck with a total of 12 creatures, ill stick to the creatures that look enough like goats that they can't be marketed in Newfoundland for fear of sexual deviancy.

-- bazaar trader would be great, but i wanna keep the theme of Goat flavored destruction, so not gonna add any goblins at this point.

that's what I figured.

This has inspired me to make my own goat deck. That I will not link here though. GJ

What do you think about Harmless Offering to give your opponent a mountain in matchups where your opponent isn't using them?

Honestly, I hadn't thought of it, but I definitely like the idea.

Trading post and springjack pasture would be nice for it. Also I'd add one or two more tags.

I understand what you're saying, but I figured it would be more fun to have the goats - pseudo goats be creature based and use things like Fist of the Anvil & mountainwalk to drive up the damage potential. Plus, I'm not a big fan of R/W decks overall.

btw, what other tags would you suggest?

From what I can see, there's only some red and white ones, and most of em are only goats cause the site I use the search on added "goat" creature types to some older beasts.

Those two cards are colourless. And maybe legality, number of players, and budget

there are any black goat? so you can call it Baphomet's deck

You need evasion, consider taking out the twigs and adding goblin tunneler.

I think adding goblins will take away from the theme.

assault strobe. temur battlerage. titan's strength.

if you dont care about legality then add some blazing shoals and progenitus.

0

i mean, where is the goat flavor? I mean im sure you can think of a reasion that progenitus is goat related! :D

Flavor doesnt always have to mean that your deck would be literally unplayable. I respect that you made a goat deck but what if you made a goat deck that you could play actual games that you might win.

0

its not exactly unplayable. sure, its going to get crushed against high powered legacy decks, but it functions the same as any other creature heavy red aggro deck, with the bonus being when you win you can yell " I BEAT YOU BAAAAAAD". Cant get that satisfaction playing with white weenies.

I think the better way to write it would be BAA-AA-AA-AA-AD

I really like Goats! not as much as I like Birds as type in MtG.

I think that Trading Post makes Goats. 0/1s(?)

It would offering more options. But, it probably does not fit the Aggro Theme.

minus points for no Springjack Pastures. It's a staple in Goat Tribe decks.

Would be good if sacrificing my goats was something i wanted to do, however with only 6 actual goats in the deck, i don't see a point to adding a token/life generator like that.
As you can see from the instants/sorceries, its meant for a quick hit and constant aggressive play. If i get to a point where i need to pay 4 mana for a 0/1 goat, I've already lost. I understand adding it for goaty flavor, but otherwise i see no purpose for it.

does this deck play well?

0
Posted 14 November 2016 at 12:22

It does alright so long as you're not playing against heavy control. Its fast enough that it can overtake decks that aren't super creature heavy, but anything with decent removal just kicks it in the face like, well, like an angry goat.
