Deck discussion for That's just rude mmmk?

http://www.mtgvault.com/drakeraenes/decks/devotion-to-death/

This is an old deck design of mine that focuses strictly on devotion. I've tested it and it works incredibly well, so you might get a few ideas from it. One thing I would like to recommend for this deck is Consume Spirit. It's very effective and I feel it would fit well in this deck, but only if you add Nykthos. Given the amount of devotion you could generate as it is now, it could effectively be a cheaper Gray Merchant. One particular strategy I like doing is generating a bunch of mana with a Nykthos, and then drop a second one from my hand, sacrifice the first one, and then get even more mana. That alone would make Consume Spirit more powerful in this one case. I've done something similar with Exsanguinate and finished off several people in a free for all

Wish I could have come up with a suggestion for your deck, but it's just so solid.

Really like consume spirit too, never seen that one before, definitely has a place in the side board, but only because you reminded me of exsanguinate. Just too good of a card. Still, only sticking with one since I usually save my tutor for something like that if the game just isn't going in my favor.

I also never noticed that this deck was almost perfect for devotion. Didn't play much in the Theros block unfortunately.

Thanks for the help, truly appreciated!

Anytime. Devotion is a fun style of play, and it makes you think about mana costs in a different way. I abused that concept with my black devotion deck that you've already seen, and I have a commander deck that has Iroas as it's commander. Unlike most people where casting your commander almost certainly means game, set, match, mine is simply there for his effect. Indestructible enchantment? Yes please!

I've always wanted to make an Iroas Commander deck. I'm guessing yours is crazy then? Haha

I really like the form this deck has taken. I'm most definitely taking it out this weekend and having a go with the guys at the shop....and ruin their day.
