Deck Description

My favorite thing to do in Magic is counter spells, bounce creatures, kill creatures, and draw cards. Unfortunately, that's no way to win the game. But then again... Maybe it is?

I need help with the mana. I have no idea what lands to use to make sure I get a good enough start to the game. Also, I feel like it's VERY anti-creature and opponents with very few creatures would probably be at an advantage to me.

Any thoughts are welcome and encouraged!

How to Play

This deck basically punishes the opponent for casting spells and having creatures. The win condition is a slow, painful burn.

Deck discussion for Esper Countermage Burn

Esper burn, I love it! Wanted to do this long time ago but never got around to it.
The only thing I can recommend is a wrath effect, maybe as a 2 of and if not that then 1 more Sphinx's Revelation maybe.

Thanks!
I want to put some in there but I don't know what to take out. If I play every spell in the deck (not including retrace on Syphon Life) I'll deal 46 damage. That's enough to win twice, but it also requires playing 22 spells. The math is solid, but in practice, it takes a bit of work. Wrath effects would keep me alive, but what do I replace?
It's nice because I have access to 3 different 4 cost wrath effect spells (Damnation, Wrath of God, and Day of Judgment)

And supreme verdict :)
And for the replacements I think cuting 1 snag for 1 rev is pretty solid. But nothing besides that comes to mind.

What about adding the wraths?

Hmm, vs many decks they are not needed through when you need them you REALLY need them. To add wraths you would have to take out cards that don't do damage or do 1 dmg. The most optimal way to do this IMO is to cut 1 snag, 1 or 2 Ojutai's Command and maybe Leyline of Sanctity or a land.
Not sure on the number of wraths through.

Leyline is Vs. Burn. I'll play around with some numbers

My other big fear is that I'm too anti-creature focused right now. If you take out all the cards that deal damage specifically because of opponents' creatures (not including retracing Syphon Life) I deal exactly 20 damage. It also leaves me with 14 cards that are worthless in my hand.

How about Exsanguinate as a finisher?
Otherwise, a cool looking deck! Haven't seen a lot of Esper burn decks!
XDDD
