Deck discussion for Grindhouse

Leyline of the Void is needed, as there are plenty of cards nowadays that just reshuffle the graveyard into the library if they hit the graveyard (namely the Eldrazi)

yea your right, thats what the "jester's cap" in the sideboard is for, but im thinking that "leyline of the void" would be alot more useful than "beseech the queen".

This is kinda close to my combo mill deck but I don't have it posted yet. Since you are running Leyline of the void you should put in Helm of Obedience for another infinite mill option. Helm of Obedience says to continue milling until X cards enter the battlefield and Leyline keeps them from entering the graveyard so they mill the whole deck. Also once you get a painters servant out if you name the color red then Blue Elemental Blast suddenly becomes a super powerful card.

Good luck, my friends all hate my mill deck. :-)

Yeah Leyline of the Void and Helm of obedience is the fastest infinte mill combo I know of but its all about luck. If leylin is in your opening hand its better than painter and grindstone but if its not in your opening hand it cost a lot more.

Turn 1 win
Opening hand 1 swamp, 2 dark rituals, Leyline of the void and Helm of obedience and any other 2 cards.

Play leyline at game start, then on your turn play Swamp, dark rit, dark rit, giving you 5 mana in your pool then play Helm for 4 and pay 1 for its X cost and you win.

I have yet to pull a turn 1 but have had many turn 2 wins with my deck.

If you haven't seen the new Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas, he is pretty great and may find a home in this deck.

Also Brainstorm works a lot better with Doomsday than ponder and its an instant.

May consider 4 Demonic Tutors instead of Fabricate.

Or take out the Peat Bog and Saprazzan Skerry in favor of 4 Seat of the Synod and 4 Vault of Whispers and then run Tinker.

yea i have seen the new tezzeret, and yes when he comes out hes gonna be a nice addition.

i like ponder because if i dont like the three cards i see then i can shuffle and take a chance.

i didnt go with the tutors because i want to keep it legacy legal, i play in a tournament weekly, this is my current project for the tournament.

and i like the idea with the artifact lands and tinker, im gonna invest in a couple of those as well. thanks :D

i dont think i will straight up replace tezzeret the seeker with the agent of bolas because the turn after you play tez the seeker you win. but agent of bolas is cheaper and way badass lookin lol

Painters Servant/Grindstone is pure Evil!

Add more Grindstones! For merely three mana, and a painters servant, you can mill their entire Deck! Add leyline of the void and its immune to eldrazi and co.

Yes it is the work of the devil himself, the only reason there aren't more grindstones is because I only own 2 and I bought the only one channelfireball had, but when they get a few more I will buy em and update

Hello again Grindhouse.

I finally posted my Mill combo deck and figured I would send you a message since I helped shape yours similar to mine.

Also had a few new suggestions especially for your sideboard.

Ensnaring bridge is a great card for protecting you against creature based decks. The combo is fast but under certain conditions you can still get overwhelmed by multiple creatures or from a huge creature.

Also another thing I have ran into lately is anti mill cards such as Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. If Void is in play it isn't a problem but it kills the Grindstone/servant combo. For this reason I highly recommend Memoricide or Sadistic Sacrament over Jesters cap. Also you can use Tormod's Crypt to get rid of Emrakul, just tap it in response to Emrakul hitting the graveyard before its ability triggers.

If you want to take a look at my version (casual format) here is the link.
