Deck Description

Hello this is is my Damia EDH deck which is also the very first EDH deck I've ever created and because of that, I've tried very hard to keep improving!

Best opening hand i've had so far: Leyline of anticipation + seedborn muse + Cultivate + Darksteel Plate + sol ring + signet + forest

Best notable combos:
seedborn muse + leyline of anticipation
seedborn muse + avatar of woe
Mimic Vat + rune-scarred demon (optional: seedborn muse)

Any help to improve or better this deck is welcome. I would really love to know what you guys think!

Deck discussion for EDH Damia, sage of stone

Since its slow to start, why not try explosive vegetation, cultivate, kodama's reach. I'd also be tempted to add a bit more mana to it.

Hitting ramp on turn 2 to 3 mana, then on turn 3 from 4 to 6 mana is awesome. If you can get it doing that regularly, and play Damia turn 4/5, you will gain card advantage sooner than you otherwise would, and also draw more ramp cards = more mana, to play whatever you pick up with damia each turn.

I've not read through your listing completely, but this is the approach I take when I have a deck with green running too slowly. Green should never really run slow...

Hope you find this helpful.

hmm i do have cultivate in there and like 5 other mana ramp cards lol.

its not slow on the mana side, however its slow on getting what it needs. often times i'd wish i had a lightning greaves out so i could protect seedborn muse from a doomblade and i have no counter spells for it.

i once had a turn 3 damia. that was good times.. all 3 opponents i was facing surrendered after.

Okay. I see what you're trying to do with this deck, but in my opinion you're not doing it that well (no offense... ^^;) Honestly, you can drop some of your reanimation and a lot of your counter magic. There are a lot of spells that are just very basic, but offer little else in the way of card advantage. Things I would drop in general:

Undertaker (doesn't drop things to the field)
Birds of Paradise (you can find better)
Phantasmal Image (Phyrexian Metamorph)
Mind Control
Yavimaya Elder
Rewind
Faerie Trickery
Dissipate
Disentomb
Cancel
Stoic Rebuttal
Counterspell
Naturalize (Krosan Grip is better)
Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir (with all your tutor it shouldn't be hard to grab your leyline, making this guy kinda pointless to the deck)

Things I would look into if I was you:

Commandeer
Spelljack
Mindbreak Trap
Planar Portal
Mana Reflection
Fleshbag Marauder
Grave Pact
Mikaeus, the Unhallowed (for this guy, also look at Glen Elandra Archmage)
Primeval Titan
Victimize
Memnarch (people WILL hate you while you laugh and steal their lands)
Geth, Lord of the Vault
Mindslicer
Volrath's Stronghold (a little expensive, but a very good add)
Tooth and Nail
Psychatog (provides a great discard outlet for useless cards)

If you wanna look at some more tech, my Damia deck is a lor different from yours (I use all of the cards I mentioned), so you should check it out and see if you get any cool ideas to make your friends cry during your next game of EDH.

i've always considered putting geth in there but haven't decided what to remove since all the creatures seems decent to me. i do agree that undertaker most of the time just sits in my hand doing nothing or on the field..

primeval titan is expensive right now its like $30.. so i'll wait till it's cheaper. trying not to spend over 20 bucks on cardboard..

memnarch always made me curious but never found a place for it. same with planar portal.

the whole point of teferi is that when i don't actually have leyline out or someone destroyed leyline. and his most valuable effect, making ALL the spells my opponents has in their hands sorcery. that means they can't counter any of my spells. i've found him very useful every time i play him. he's staying for good.

never been a fan of psychatog. everyone loves him but i just don't so he's not going in.

well thanks for the suggestions, i'll see what happens. right now the deck is very strong and i haven't really lost with this deck specially not 1 vs 1. i only lost once because all 4 players knew what my deck does and did all they could to beat me and yet they still took awhile to win.

my deck is not really much of a graveyard creature based deck so i try not to get alot of creatures in the grave. specially since my play group likes to grave hate..

Is Primeval $30 right now? Wow. Yeah, I nabbed one of those when it dropped to like, $12 at my local shop, but I can understand holding off on one of those for now. lol

My suggestions were more for group games. If you play 1 v 1 a lot, then I suppose your deck is fine. In group games you just tend to want more bang out of your cards, so instead of simply countering a spell, you can Spelljack it and turn it on them.

Also, Memnarch is just a card I've had a recent obsession with, you definitely don't NEED to include him, but Planar Portal? Seriously, just give it a shot lol. It won't disappoint you. Especially if you have Seedborn Muse of the field at the same time. Combined with Mana Reflection? 3 basic lands to tutor every turn.

Lastly, I understand the Teferi argument, and I used him as well for a little while. I've just never found him completely necessary because people seldom target my Leyline for removal (it has only been destroyed from enchantment wipes), and Teferi always causes everyone else to team up on me. But I don't know your playgroup, so if you don't run into this problem, then you shouldn't take him out. o3o

they already focus me so what's the point of removing him? he's there to cause more havoc and irritation which all the more fun for me.

i'm taking planar portal to consideration. i've just bought several cards including primeval titan so i'm a little short on cash for awhile.

this deck was made for multiplayer though its a whole lot more powerful in 1 vs 1.
