I'm new to magic and this is the deck I'm currently working to make. If anyone can please help me improve this deck to be competitive, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance! hit directly almost all the time with flying and unblockables. bounce the enemy cards back at him and make them discard it or destroy them as soon as they hit the field. jace, sign in blood and temple bell for card advantage. diabolic tutor to get the most needed cards out right away. spike is just for the added humor so that if your opponent can somehow block you, their creature dies with it.

Discard is very hard to master. It, by far, is my favorite trick and I would't say that I have mastered it yet. Just from experience, if you are counting on the Planeswalker abilities in your deck, then you need to put two more Planeswalkers in the deck or two more Diabolic Tutors to fetch them. If your not worried about what format your deck is, I would suggest Rhystic Study instead of playing the Helm. Just a thought...

Oh.... one more. Diabolic Edict doesnt care what color the opponents creature is.
Ghastlord of Fugue while cool pales in comparison to Shimian Specter which costs one less and can literally take the win condition out of an opponents hand and remove all copies of it from the game so I would go with 4 of them. And with the 2 creatures you have left take a look at Nezumi Shortfang which transforms into a creature that will benefit you when your opponent is in top deck mode. Helm of the Ghastlord is cool but I would throw Underworld Dreams in for that to make them hurt for drawing and for discarding.
add duress, hymn to tourach, tougthseize and play four hypnotic specters if your playing discard you should probably play mono black, i run the same deck and its very painful to play against, check it out!
