Deck Description

A somewhat human based reanimator deck.

Faithless Looting, Grisly Salvage, and Mulch hope to dump Angel of Serenity or Angel of Glory's Rise into the graveyard along with various humans so they can be brought back all at once using Unburial Rites. Falkenrath Aristocrat adds an interesting twist to the deck because she can sac the humans to become indestructible and gain a +1/+1 counter. Angelic Overseer in indestructible and hexproof while I control a human so I think she makes sense.

I really like playing reanimator decks but I find the ones I'm using now are too slow to race against some of the metagame aggro decks and the control decks which have an answer to everything by the time I establish my field. This seems to be a little quicker but I really miss Thragtusk.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Edits:
Dec 3 - Added Angelic Overseer and Craterhoof, removed 2 Falkenrath Aristocrats.

Deck discussion for Humanimator (Standard) - Suggestions?

Have you noticed this deck costs roughly 400-1200 dollars? I have no useful comments, reanimator decks are outside of my sphere of comfort.

Yeah I'm not sure how this deck could cost over $1000 but fortunately I already have most of the cards for this deck.

its because theres a discrepency with the Angel. its listed at a $220 high, which I dont think is even possible.

looks like an interesting deck, Im not too familiar with the reanimators, so my input would only serve to hinder it :)

Also generally you ignore the high price and look at the middle price (which is still slightly inflated normally)
The killer reanimating combo is lingering souls craterhoof with just one full set of souls (plate and flashbacked) you hit for lethal

The cost is because they screwed up angel of serenity high price says it's $220

So I'd put in craterhoof over any card really
falkenrath isn't that good here as your not racing your kind of combo-inch out
Splinter fright is another really good card for this deck as he feeds your graveyard and is a threat himself

Thanks for the comment. I was trying to figure out what to take out for the Craterhoof since it's so beast, but I really do think Falkenrath Aristocrat can get work done when I'm threatened by Supreme Verdict from some of these control decks or when I sac all of my humans then bring them all back via Unburial Rites on Angel of Glory's Rise.

Splinterfright is something I'll definitely think about as well. Not sure why he never occurred to me in a reanimator deck...

It seems to me that you are running too many colors and are trying to do too much at the same time. I would try to slim it down to either 3 colors, or just split the entire deck and do two separate two color decks. But that's just me.

Nice deck but you need enchantment removal otherwise you won't stay competitive rest in peace pithing needle and nevermore will hurt it badly.

Or run a transformative sideboard altogether where you put in primal hunter Wolfir silver heart an cards like that an take out unburial rites

I'm running Abrupt Decay in the sideboard for Rest in Peace and the others since they all cost 3 or less to cast but I see what you're saying. Thanks for commenting!

Death rite shaman is reanimator hate as well and so is tormod's crypt and cremate (all of which are used in non white decks as potential grave hate)
But the real benefit is that now they have thier six cards which they sided in or whatever to fight nothing
They slaughter games for unburial rites and whiff etc etc that's the real benedit

Griselbrand is by far the best reanimator target in standard. also Angel of Serenity is very good. Grisly salvage also works really good for digging your library.

I think you should deside to good either reanimator or humans.

I agree Griselbrand is definitely a great card for reanimator and I may have to find room for him, possibly instead of Gisela.

I have a decent human deck and regular reanimator deck already but I wanted to try something different, thus the attempt at humanimator.

I like the concept, but you'll be paying a lot life to the shocklands when you draw them. You might want to take a color out. I see the Chromatic Latern, but with only one, you might not ever draw it and artifact destruction isn't that hard to come by.

my buddy made a R/W re animator without unburial rites and it'll kill just playing humans not event attacking. Faithless looting, Glory of angels rise, and the human only Warstorm surge plus the kessig malcontents hurts and is a deck idea that freaks out tourny goers when it beats em.

Oh wow Kessig Malcontents might be pretty crazy when it comes back with a bunch of other humans with Angel of Glory's Rise. Didn't think of that at all, thanks!

Two Words for this deck.... DOOMED TRAVELER !!! .. Where is he ???? lol amazing 1 Drop + he is a human. And since its a HUMAN based reanimator deck, and your Mulching cards... Where in gods good name is Dearly Departed !!!?? lol ... you mulch 1 or 2 of her and ALL your humans hit play as bombs.

Have you thought about adding Splinterfright in and dropping out a few of the mulch cards? Not sure if I like it either but hes an everyturn mulch thats P/T can be unpredictable at anymoment with this deck.

I would remove all Falkenrath and angelic overseer too
Add one more behemoth and 1 more ANGEL OF GLORY
Guess that what I would do...

Please comment on my deck too ;D

I think this deck is looking very good. I have lost terribly to these kinds of decks but the only thing I would add is possibly a thragtusk or two other than that it looks great if you have the cards for it :)

I would say take out falkenrath like everyone else is saying but I would also put in another cavern of souls. The problem with reanimator is it only really goes off late in the game, which means you're going to give control time to get going. Having your board swept shouldn't be a worry for a reanimator play at all...you only need one or two bombs and you're set. Getting out is the problem.

Check out my Mono Red Aggro (Standard). Won SNM twice in a row.

I like this deck - I wish I could afford all the awesome cards in here, haha! Some Nevermore(s) might be beneficial so you get some more removal. The downsides to that though would be the double white signature cost, and the fact that you would need to know whats in your opponents deck.

i think u should drop 1 angel of serenity, the lantern, and the overseer. maybe add another craterhoof and 2 more fiend hunters,or maybe o-rings instead. thats your decision. also i know this is human based but give griselbrand some consideration.

0

on the double take, it could also be good to drop 1 huntmaster and the sanctifiers. thats the room u need for an extra fiend hunter and the 1 or 2 thragtusks you've been missing.
