Deck Description

So I'm pretty new to Modern, and who knows? This deck might just be terrible. But I really want to make it better, so comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I remember back when Bloodghast was in Standard seeing really fast RB Aggro decks that ran 4 of and just decimated anything you had on the field to let the ghast get through. Gravecrawler also seems like a similar effect, and nether traitor as well. Myr Servitor is mainly there for the sacrifice power with Bloodthrone Vampire and Bloodchief's Ascension, but the continuous beatdown theme still applies. Using these four cards as staples, I wanted to make a relentless aggro deck that is extremely hard for removal to deal with--thus this deck was born. Bloodchief's Ascension punishes them for committing creatures to the board and trying to stop the onslaught. Gravepact plus Bloodthrone vampire is just plain amazing. Sacrifice all your creatures, make them sacrifice all theirs, and then swing with a giant bloodthrone vampire. Not to mention, the results are devastating if you have Bloodchief's Ascension maxed out. Geralf's Messenger isn't quite as fast or hard hitting, but it's a fat zombie that helps gravecrawler come back and will drain them for 4 if nothing else. Dismember and Go for the Throat are good early game, instant-speed removal until you get Grave Pact out. Topping off the curve is Phyrexian Obliterator, which may be the best monoblack creature ever printed. It completely eliminates any of their counter-aggressive pushes as well as pushes through for 5 damage about every turn.

I'm really excited about this deck, and I need help making it better!

Note: I'm also not super savvy on the best Modern cards (things like removal, sac outlets, yadda yadda), so if there's a better card than what I'm using for any of these things, I'd love to know!

Deck discussion for The Deck that Never Dies (Mod)

I like the variety of creature removal you have in this deck, You have an option to kill something cheap, or indestructible, or untargetable. If you want more creature removal you may want to consider tendrils of corruption, consuming vapors or urge to feed. The first two will give you health, and the later allows you to buff your vampires. Consider vampire hexmage, a 2/1 first strike for 2 mana is really good, not to mention you can sac her to destroy a planeswalker, remove the levels from something ridiculous, debuff someones scut mob, and so on. If you put more creature removal(or put doom blade in your sideboard and throw in 3 go for the throats) in there I would suggest abyssal persecutor (seriously. 6/6 flying trample for 4)

I'd recommend playing skinrender rather than blood throne vampire. He acts as a kill spell and he is a decent attacker without his effect. Secondly, you have too many grave pacts. I'd go with one or two at most. Instead, I would play endless ranks of the dead. It spawns zombies for you and very quickly
beefs up your field. Finally, you can't go wrong with cemetery reaper. He is great in any zombie deck

This isn't necessarily a zombie deck. It's more of a "I can kill my creatures and bring them back for days" deck. Grave Pact has been hard to narrow down in terms of exactly how many I want. On the one hand, I really want the sac outlet, gravepact combo on turn 4 or 5, but I don't really want duplicates or a bunch of 4-drops I can't cast crowding up my hand. I'll play around with it more. I'll also check out endless ranks and mess around with it as well.

Not so sure about cemetery reaper. Not enough zombies for him to boost and I don't want to exile anything from my graveyard.

Thanks for the comment!

You can exile stuff from your opponent's graves. That way you're getting rid of their stuff and creating little 2/2 zombies. And I know it's not a zombie deck, however you do have a large number of zombies so I figured endless ranks and reaper might be helpful
