Deck Description

Mono Blue Artifact Ramp deck. Obviously can't do much with it in terms of tournaments, but it's still fun. Sol ring is one of the best ramp cards in magic, not just because of it's two for one mana ratio, but the fact that it comes into play untapped and isn't affected by summoning sickness like birds or myr would be. Here's an example.
Best hand ever: Island, Island, Sol Ring, Silver Myr, some 4 or 5 drop, then anything else in the other two slots.
Turn 1 - Play an island, then sol ring, then tap the sol ring to play a silver myr. You now have 4 mana in play on turn 1.
Turn 2 - Island, then play a jace, sturmgeist, or mindspring for 3.
If that doesn't work, keep ramping to ulamog. You'll get there in a couple turns.

I had only thought of jace's ingenuity for 5 mana card draw, which mind spring equals in strength. Tidings would give me more cards for 5 mana, and the same cards for 1 less mana, but I kind of like the versatility of the X in mind spring. Thanks for the comment!

Using sol ring to power these threats out is like beating a nail in with a sledgehammer
If you wanna show the power of banned cards without spending a fortune use tinker sol ring and blightsteel (A.K.A one shot robot) you can get a turn 1-2 blight steel and if you run lightning greaves there's a turn 1-2 wins in there
Also take reliquary tower and run cloud post if you wanna stick with the deck as is.
