Deck Description

U/B infect/control with runechanter's pike. Pike is highly underestimated so here's a deck that shows just how deadly pike can be.

Enjoy!

Deck discussion for Infected Pike

i love this... simply love it! but why not add in a few phyresis's and an invisible stalker?

Thanks, I love this deck to. The reason I won't do that is because stalker doesn't have infect, and he is only good if I give him Phyresis, and even if I give him Phyresis, then I'm paying 4 mana and 2 cards for a 1/1 hexproof/unblockable/infect. To cut a long story short, it's just not worth it.

Hmmmm.... needs more equipment, possibly dagger, and switch 2 island for swamp due to phyrexian crusader... and add Ner-ner Ner Ner-ner.

"Ner-ner Ner Ner-ner" lol =)
I was thinking of adding dagger, but that would use up more slots that are used for control cards and also lessen the effects of Pike. I see your point about crusader but do you really think switching 2 for 2 is a good idea, doing that would also decrease the chances of playing a t1 ponder. Mabey a 1 for 1 switch?

yes add the dagger, its not worth mulugening to get the pike, no i dont think its a good idea on secon thoughts to do 2 for 2, but 1 island and 1 inkmoth solves that, inkmoths arnt as good as usual for this deck and they skrew up phyrex crusader.

I see your point about inkmoths not being as good, so I switched an inmkmoth for another swamp. I also see where your coming from with adding dagger, but the fact is that pike is not my only win-con, so I don't need to mulligan if I don't draw pike in my opening hand. I can quite happily keep my opponents at bay with all the control cards in this deck until I draw pike, and even if I don't end up drawing pike I can still win with inkmoths, crusaders and blighted agents. I'm still considering adding dagger tho, I'm just not sure what to take out for it.

How much of a difference will it make if i tell you that blighted agent is a human? and you only have 4 cards that you can play on turn 1?

Also, use unsummon in stead of vapor snag, because they do the same to your opponent but if you want to protect your own critters unsummon doesn't hurt you.

What's your reasoning?

Thought scour will boost up your pike, if u do it on yourself, and gitaxion probe boosts your pike and is a useful cantrip

where are your 2 proliferate cards?Tezzeret's Gambit and Grim Affliction would be a great fit in here.

From past experience Tezz-Gambit is too slow and so is Grim affliction. I'd prefer to use Virulent wound for removal.
